The Vikings could use another receiver, but I'm none too high on Robiskie. Another challenging position is DT. Yes, the Williams' are solid, but Pat is nearing retirement. However, none of the DTs on the board blow me away. The Vikings could also use help in the return game, and with some uncertainty at QB, more interesting plays could be drawn up. One player could help with all that. This may seem like a homer pick, but:

The Minnesota Vikings select:

Derrick Williams, WR, Penn St.

I like the pick, myself. If Rosenfels is really going to be the QB, he'll need all the weapons he can get.

Berrian, Williams and Sidney Rice is a good core of receivers.

I PMd Vanilla Ice.

With Vanilla Ice not showing up for 24 hours, I'll go ahead and make the Falcons' second round pick.

Atlanta doesn't have very many needs on the offensive side of the ball - especially after adding (it appears) LJ Smith to the roster - but there are a couple of defensive holes they need to fill.

Both DT and safety lack depth and strong starters, so the Falcons will look to one of those two spots with this pick. The best value on the board right now, however, is at safety, so with the 55th pick in the draft, the Falcons select William Moore, S, from Missouri.

Warpticon and the Dolphins are now on the clock. I will PM him.

Well, it's been more than 24 hours for Warp and still no word from him, so I guess I'll make another pick.

The Dolphins need more defensive playmakers and haven't worked on that side of the ball yet. They're also getting a bit old at one LB spot and are without strong depth behind starters Joey Porter and Matt Roth.

So, with the next pick in the draft, the Dolphins select OLB/DE Connor Barwin from Cincinnatti. Barwin is a bit raw, but will provide solid depth and the potential for a good playmaker at either OLB or DE. He'll also be able to develop behind Porter and, perhaps, replace him in a year or two. Barwin is also a Parcells-type player - hard worker with a great motor.

WrigleyField 22 and the Ravens are now on the clock. I'll PM him.

Well, you made my decision easier. I think the Ravens will really focus on getting younger on defense, and I probably would have gone with Barwin.

The other glaring need for the Ravens is WR.

So, with the 25th pick in the second round the Baltimore Ravens select Brian Robiskie, WR, Ohio State

I PM'ed ELCABALLO

I like Robiskie a lot more than most seem to.

Eh I'm not crazy about him, but he looks like the best WR at this point.

If I was really the Ravens I'd actually look for a short term fix at WR with someone like Holt and get some youth on the defense. Since I can't assume that's what they'll do though, I went with WR. Plus as I said Barwin was the guy I had targeted if I went defense.

Sorry. :D

run on receivers

Which almost ensures I won't take one with the Titans' pick.

Well if you hadn't insisted on taking Barwin for the Fins, I would have left Robiskie for you! :)

Honestly, though I like him, I'm not sure I would have taken Robiskie if he was there. I'm looking at a couple other players I like better right now. If they're gone, he might have crept up there.

I went ahead and added the third round draft order to the first post of the thread. The order came off NFL.com this time, so hopefully it'll be accurate, but if anybody sees anything awry with it, let me know and I'll fix it.

As with the first round, once we get through the second round, I'll put it in spoiler tags to shorten the page length.

Nice pick. I just woke up after driving from Atlanta on 30 minutes sleep....I vaguely remembered something about this.

Thanks. I actually really wasn't sure who they might go with and nearly decided on Sen'Derrick Marks - then I remembered the Dolphins now run a 3-4 and he definitely wouldn't fit that.

I thought about Fili Moala as well, but his tendency to slack off made me doubt Parcells/Sparano's interest. That's when I noticed the lack of OLB depth and went with Barwin.

Great pick with Moore, I would have taken him. The Falcons were going to take the best DT, CB, or S available with that pick after taking an LB first round.

Ok, 24 hours and still no ELCABALLO so we're moving on, I guess.

The Pats have filled needs at CB, LB and TE so far, but still have a bit of an aging offensive line. Every starter will be 30 or older this year and most of the reserves are in their late 20s. So, without very many other needs out there, the Pats will add a little young depth to the offensive line here.

So, the Patriots select OG Andy Levitre from Oregon State. Levitre is big and physical and is capable of playing both guard and center if needed. He could potentially help relatively quickly if needed, but more than anything, he makes the line a bit younger.

Carolina and Andy are now on the clock. I'll PM him.

wow, this is turning into dew's mock draft.

Based on poster's reactions, it seems like he's doing a pretty good job though.

Thanks. I hate making all the picks, but I don't want it to start dragging too much either.

Am I picking what I want them to do or what I think they will do? I have a different vote for each.

Either, though, I've been identifying the Titans' needs as I see them and then finding players Mike Reinfeldt (Titans GM) would likely take to fill that need.

Hope that helps.
