Well, Houston went CB- FS in rounds 1 and 2. Biggest needs remaining are interior OL and outside LB. I don't really like any LBs or true OGs on the board, but I am sure I am missing someone.

Houston selects: Antoine Caldwell, C University of Alabama.

He may be able to play OG, but C is also a need for Houston.

Well, today was a bad time to be out on the road all day. In light of Dallas taking Paul Kruger, give me a couple of hours and I'll make the pick before I go to bed.
Posted

Hell, first Dallas signs Igor Olshansky, then they steal Paul Kruger out from under me in the 3rd round. I'll take a reach and go for upside (a bit too early). San Diego select Ricky Jean-Francois from LSU.

The longer I look at this before submitting the message, the more I regret this pick. But it's either RJF or Darryl Richard of GT. Ugh.

Screw it, I'm not a pro and won't be paid for doing this.

San Diego selects Ricky Jean-Francois. A future bust if there ever was one. Ugh.

There's always Chris Baker from Hampton if you dislike Jean-Francois so much.

Mark Prior's Calves is now on the clock with the Broncos' pick. I PMd him.

I am the GM of the Broncos and I'm planning on trading Jay Cutler to the Bears, so I'll use our third round pick on his replacement:

Rhett Bomar, QB Sam Houston St.

I love Bomar's potential. He could end up being a real steal for somebody in the third or fourth round.

rchap and the Redskins are now on the clock. I PMd him.

It's been roughly 24 hours and no sign of rchap, so I guess I'll make the pick here.

The Redskins have pretty big needs at DE and CB, but there's better value later at end and there are a couple of corners left who are good values here.

So, the Redskins select Keenan Lewis, CB, Oregon State.

weis and Tampa Bay are now on the clock. I'll PM him.

Well, the offense looks much improved with a promising young QB, a plethora of RBs, a new "soldier" at TE, and a playmaker in Harvin at wide-out.

So...it's time to solidify a suspect d-line.

The TB Buccaneers select: Dorell Scott - DT - Clemson University

(I never thought I would spend so much time researching a team in which I have absolutely no vesting interest)

Defense, defense, defense. With another year under Harris and Woodson's belts, the need for additional secondary help continues to grow. Tramon Williams was one of the extremely few bright spots on defense last season, but depth is key. Safety is a spot where depth is needed as well, especially with Atari Bigby's health in question. I think we need to go secondary here, whether it be corner or safety. Victor Harris, CB out of Va Tech and Patrick Chung, S out of Oregon are my recommendations.

Just an FYI, Chung was taken by the Rams with the second pick of the third round.

Ah, didn't see that. Then I fully endorse Harris...we'll see what Mark has to offer.

Macho's interesting. I could see him playing corner or safety, though I've heard he'll likely be a safety in the NFL. Not enough speed for corner - except for a Cover 2 - from what I hear.

i wouldn't pick chung. mostly because the only other football player i know of who was named chung was eugene chung, who was drafted way too early by the patriots because they panicked about the good OTs coming off the board, traded up and drafted a fat-ass tackle at #13 when nobody else thought he was a first rounder.

call it superstition.

If there are no objections, we'll go ahead and take Flames' recommendation for the Packers' pick - since it's been 24 hours and no sign of Mark.

So, the Packers select Victor "Macho" Harris, CB, from Va Tech.

The Bears are now on the clock. I'll PM Raisin.

Any thoughts here? We've already taken a WR and a RT.

I think DE or S, but frankly, I'm not a fan of what's left at those positions. Quite frankly, the best player left on the draft board imo is DT Chris Baker.

Since 2001 Angelo 4 most favorite positions to draft are: WR, LB, OL, and DL. If there isn't a DE or a S available, then my money will be on an OL or WR taken in the third round. The best available player between DT( orv DE) or WR would be the smart money to go.

Ok, Bears select Chip Vaughn, S, Wake Forest.

Didn't realize he was still available.

Truffle has been PMed.

we can use more TEs since l.j. smith is gone, so let's go with cornelius ingram, te, florida. i think he may end up being the best TE in this draft, if he stays healthy.

Great pick. You're right that he could easily be the best TE in the draft.

PCP and Minnesota are now on the clock. I PMd him.

Geez, I got PM'd by three people. I guess that's a signal to keep this moving along. The Vikings have a few more needs, arguably the biggest being OT. With its third round pick, Minnesota selects:

Fenuki Tupou, OT, Oregon

He's kinda raw, but he's big and has potential.
