pwned. The Bulls will have the black Steve Nash next season.

:yahoo:

the black steve nash?

Nash can only dream of being so athletic.

Nash is an MVP. I would love for Rose to be just like Nash. But they are different players. Rose is much stronger and will be better at taking the ball to the basket. Rose can create his own shot. Nash is a better distributer.

Boers and Bernstein were talking about D'Antoni and taking the Knicks job is better because they are closer to a championship because they have more talent. I agreed then, but getting the number one pick just changed all that.

Who the heck was that guy who was sitting for the Bulls? I had never heard of him. I had heard of most of the other team's reps.

Please draft Rose. I like Beasley, but Rose is such a better fit on this team. He instantly makes Noah and Thomas better. He probably makes Hughes better too. Beasley isn't going to make anyone better, probably ever in his career. He's just not that type of player. We have always said the Bulls were a star away from competing, now they have their chance to draft that star. Please, don't screw it up.

yeah, the bulls can now dump their "nucleus" and actually try to win.

derrick rose is a very unique player.

i'd still take eric gordon.

I love Eric Gordon's athleticism and burst, but I don't think he's much of a basketball player right now. He has as much upside as Rose in my estimation, but is far more raw. I think he'll take years longer to be a major contributor than Rose will. Granted, I never really saw him early on when he wasn't shooting 37% from the field. But that's precisely why I question his ability to contribute early on.

Yeah, who's name are people gonna know in 10 years? Eric Gordon, the multiple time all star or Derrick Rose, the benchwarmer?

i think that everyone knows that i like gordon, despite being an illini fan. but i was being a little facetious. though i think gordon will have a long and fruitful nba career and will be a lottery pick.

When Len mentioned the Bulls won the lottery, I gaped at my friend for a minute or so then we got up and exchanged amazed high-fives. Holy crap, what a break for a franchise that hasn't gotten many of them in the last ten years.

Derrick Rose, baby.

Ah, so that's what that is. I do know some people that are crazy high on Gordon, though, so you never know.

From cnnsi:

The Bulls' surprising victory should quickly restore interest in the underachieving team. Interviewed immediately following the result, Schanwald read the number for callers to buy season tickets.

"I thought it was a waste of time. I thought coming here was an absolute waste of time. I knew I would get a great meal out of it, but I thought it was a waste of time," Schanwald said of the Bulls' chances.

"I'm on top of the world. I feel great. It's the most exciting day of my life."

Are people really still crazy high on Gordon? Has he been having good workouts, or have those not even started yet? I'm not sold on him as an impact player.

Didn't he really fizzle during the second half of the season? I remember him being extremely well thought of during the first half of the season, but maybe the firing of Sampson effected him.

Gordon fell off when he injured his wrist

he seems like a more explosive mitch richmond to me.

Yeah Gordon definitely lost some luster down the stretch. It started before the Sampson "resigning". I dunno, Gordon was good at penetrating, but he didn't seem like a great finisher, and his outside shot was iffy. I'd almost view him as a bit of a project because I really don't think he grew much as a player this past season. The potential he had coming out of high school is still there(which probably would have made him a top 3 pick in '07 if he was allowed to declare.) but others who've developed further in the past year have soared past him.

Pick Rose.

Use Hinrich and Deng as the basic starting block to get a proven version of Beasley - Carmelo Anthony (if Denver seriously considers trading him)

Rose/Thabo

Gordon/Thabo

Melo/Nocioni

Gooden/Thomas/Nocioni

Noah/Gooden/Gray

My unqualified opinion would probably be that the Bulls would be better off taking Beasley. Not only do I think he'll probably be a better pro than Rose, but I think he fills a role they need more, a volume scorer and a go-to guy(although probably not right away).

That would be mine as well. His T/O ratio isn't that great, he's a blah foul shooter, and he doesn't have excellent 3 range. IMHO, he needs some developing for the NBA game. He does have the body and the dribble drive, but the rest he has to develop if he wants to be a top notch guy.

What would Denver want for Carmelo? Deng and?

Deng replaces Anthony, Hinrich moves AI to SG. Bam.

Well you often argue for LeBron over MJ, so that kind of highlights how unqualified that noise is. HA!

But seriously though, you have a case. He does fill a more glaring need, I just like Rose's upside and potential and hate drafting for need. Plus my fan boy pipe dream of getting Carmelo fixes the go-to scorer need.

Could the Bulls get Elton Brand and Corey Magette from the Clippers for Kirk Hinrich, Larry Hughes, and Tyrus Thomas?

Here's the Bulls lineup:

PG: Derrick Rose

SG: Corey Maggette

SF: Luol Deng (resigned)

PF: Elton Brand

C: Joakim Noah

Bench: Ben Gordon, random backup PG, Thabo Sefolosha, Andres Nocioni, Aaron Gray, Cedric Simmons, random backup PF/C, random backup SG/SF, Jameson Curry (inactive), Demetius Nichols (inactive)

Love all those Duke players!

That's exactly what he is. Shorter, but a better athlete than Richmond and better ball handler.
