Their hockey facilities at PSU are incredible. Elite. They have a mega donor who decided he wanted them to be an elite D1 program about 10 years ago and now they are. Also, NIL is more lucrative than Canadian juniors for the top guys, so college hockey is going to get a lot more one and done Canadian products now. Big 10 TV deal helps too.

Yeah & half their roster will be in the Olympics next year. Tkachuk has played through a broken clavicle two years ago and the torn adductor this year, not exactly being careful about long term health. Bob and Marchand are my age. Blackhawks fans have seen this movie. It’s great but the end is coming.

Marchand back too now. Also your team is paying one of their stars on a long term deal. It’s maybe the last major sport where people take major “culture” discounts.

Toronto will be an interesting. Looking like they are going to rebuild while also being the team that gave the panthers the biggest fight in the playoffs. Florida - really not sure what happens with Ekblad, Bennett, and Marchand. If I had to guess, they’ll get Ekblad and Bennett to stay on team friendly deals and Marchand walks, but what happens if a couple teams decide that Ekblad and/or Bennett are just what they need to make a cup run and offer stupid money?

When the panthers have pissed their opponents off so much that they start getting easy power plays off dumb instigation penalties, it’s over. They have beaten you. the entire bottom half of their roster look like all stars in the playoffs. They have the devil magic. Not to mention they’ve played more hockey than any team over the last three years, and Tkachuk seems like the only player showing any wear & tear.

Desperately wanted him to win this so there would be a trophy named for Landon Donovan somewhere (way in the back) of the greatest individual trophy room in the history of the sport. That is very funny to me, and probably LD, as well.

Tillman has never replicated his form at PSV with the national team, so we’re all kind of reserved about him. With both players we’re all waiting to see do it consistently in tougher leagues. It’s all looking good tho. We’ll see.

Enough about maga Messi (I’ll just say I’m glad he isn’t overt or aggressive about his politics because I accept the existence of DT’s popularity but prefer not be reminded), here’s Poch talking about using Jedi to move into central mid when attacking (like a left-sided Phil Lahm) to get an overload and drive the ball up. I think this is going to be key to actually breaking teams down and I can’t wait to see a healthy Dest added to the mix.

Giddey needs to get his creepy ass in the weight room. can’t say I’m a huge fan of the high screen-launch a 3 before you burn more than 4 seconds on the shot clock offense. DeMar leaving doesn’t mean we have the roster to try to be the pacers.
