Here's an article that discusses who might replace Pelini as DC at LSU.

This looms as the first major task for Miles after the national championship game.

If the Tigers claim the national crown, hiring a new defensive coordinator could be the bridge to a modern-day SEC dynasty.

The money will be there: Pelini was in the $400,000 a year neighborhood and LSU is poised to up the ante if necessary.

The prestige is already there and would be even glossier with a national championship in hand.

LSU and Miles have to aim high and lure the best fit for the SEC’s best defense of today and the future.Tenuta’s name has been tossed around as a favorite and the Tigers could do a lot worse than the veteran of the ACC and short stints at Ohio State, North Carolina, Kansas State and Oklahoma.

But the best fits for all of the above reasons are the three most familiar with LSU: Mallory, Muschamp and Dunbar.

Look for all three to be in the hunt for the job and one to get the gig.

Hey Robinson won a couple of Super Bowls and has head coaching experience...give him a try, please?

Les Miles issued a statement today saying he wasn't interested in the Michigan job. He said he was contacted by U of M on Friday, but was just helping them in their coaching search.

Wow, Bobby Petrino is going to leave the Falcons to take the job at Arkansas. Pretty good hire for the Hogs.

Petrino never should have left Louisville.

Wow, totally didn't see that one coming. Arkansas comes out ahead of everyone this year in the coaching carousel contest.

This is a great hire for the Razorbacks. Petrino's successor as Auburn's offensive coordinator, Al Borgess, resigned today. I wouldn't be suprised if he was offered a D1 head coaching job, although some believe he was pressured to leave after Auburn's sub-par offensive showing this year.

We've been getting rumors of interest from Petino for a while, but there's been a little difficulty which I guess left room to pursue other coaches. This is absolutely the best case scenario for the program. Getting Petrino is huge. Press conference is tonight, which is a good idea seeing how the last few offers have gone. :P

Wow, great job by Arkansas. I hope Dan Guerrero is taking notes.

Honestly, I'd probably rather have Petrino over Tuberville, who was supposedly Arkansas's #1 candidate.

So would I, but Tuberville is an Arkansas guy, so he had that going for him.

Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild will become the head coach at Colorado State.

Good news for SIU as Jerry Kill was supposedly their other finalist for the job.

Lots of rumors on various Michigan boards that UM's coaching search has turned it's attention to Jim Grobe from Wake Forest. I have to say, I would be extremely happy with Grobe as the new HC. He's done amazing things with that Wake program. Of course, he'll probably turn us down too.

Well one thing good about Grobe is that he's old enough to remember when Michigan actually was good!

He would be a solid choice.

One of the main reasons he turned down Nebraska was because they wanted him to keep some of the current assistants.

DeWayne Walker was the first to interview for the UCLA HC job yesterday. Hopefully he bombed.

I've been telling my Michigan friends since the beginning they should hire Grobe. Yes, even over Miles.

He seems very well respected. Deacon fans like him alot.

If he turned down Nebraska because he needed to keep their assistants that could be a problem with Michigan. Rumors are they are being strongwilled about keeping the current assistants.

No disrespect to Arkansas, Petrino is great hire for them. But if Arkansas can afford $3M for a head coach and UM's best offer to Miles was $2.5 thats pathetic. UM is self funding $250M in stadium and practice facility upgrades but cant put an offer of of say $3.5M for the head coach of that program? Fine botch up the process but don't botch up the $.

Washington State went with Eastern Washington's coach instead of Brady Hoke. Michigan's now the only job he's been linked to, so if they don't hire him, we get to keep him for at least one more season.

Any Penn State fans have a sense at how committed Vanderlinden is to the program and what his chances of taking over for Paterno are? Just about every NU fan has his return to Northwestern at the top of their DC wish list.

That's pathetic if they only offered $2.5 million. They are loaded.

On Grobe, Wake Forest has absolutely no business being good at all in football. They are one of the smallest schools in all D-I (approx. 4,000 students), yet play in a BCS league. It's an excellent academic institution with stringent standards. North Carolina isn't the most fertile football recruiting ground, either, and Wake must contend with three other in-state ACC teams (don't laugh, but Duke has about as much reason to be good as Wake). Their previous 14 coaches since 1950 had winning percentages of: .292, .448, .394, .412, .209, .182, .469, .350, .175, .313 and .460. That's abysmal. Grobe is at .536, including last year's ACC Championship. He's going to make some big-time program very, very happy.
