I'd like to see them add a WR in the 2nd or 3rd round. Moose is getting old and you can't expect Bradley to be healthy.

I think with Bradley, Berrian, and Davis and more year of Moose, they can survive with their WRs. They're not good, but with a better Grossman, they'll be avg. at the worst.

Is anyone watching the NBC affliate(Channel 5) here in Chicago? They're running a ticker at the bottom of the screen with text messages that people have sent.

It's a good thing Rex isn't seeing the ticker.

That's unfair to him. He's not the reason they lost. This was a team loss, from coaches to offense to defense to special teams.

Gould and Hester get to avoid blame, but everyone else has a equal share.

Yes unfortunately Rex is going to to get crucified for this. He was not good by any means but not horrible either. He does not deserve the criticism. Sure hope Rex doesn't have a Slingbox

Here's my blame breakdown:

Turner (offensive play calling) : 40%

Grossman: 20%

O-Line: 15%

Rivera (defensive scheme) : 15%

Defense: 10%

it was a team loss but his 3 turnovers didnt help

the defense wasant good by any means and more shouldve been done to keep them on the sideline so they could catch their breath

I have to laugh at all you Bears fans in this thread predicting that the Bears would blow away the Colts O-Line like they did the Saints.

Colts would have put up 40 easily if there was no rain tonight.

Absoltely right. They didn't run well in the first half, but the playcalling in the 1st half was crap. Rex's mistakes came in the 4th, and one of them was the correct read, and a bad throw with a wet ball. The ball to Moose...that was crap, and Moose should have gotten him out of bounds.

And if the offense let the defense get some rest, the Colts may have scored 10. We'll never know.

I'm beating a dead horse, but if the Bears would have snuck a few play action passes into the first few possessions, we probably would have seen a much different offensive performance, and consequently a better defensive performance.

Well. We prepared for this game like crap. All week long I got the impression the Bears were just glad to be here.

Grossman played like *&^#. Two botched snaps? That should never happen. Ever. Much less in the SB.

The OL blocked like crap for 90% of the game. Benson getting hurt killed our running game, but that's just how it goes.

Hester is the man. Good game dude. Sorry your teammates were too busy dinking around in the media circus to prepare for this game.

We blew assignment after assignment and tackle after tackle.

Indy is good, but they're not that good.

Making the Super Bowl is an accomplishment enough. It was a pretty good game until Grossman threw those two picks in the 4th. Still, you guys shouldn't be disappointed with the season. But I definitely know what all of you are going through.

Now we can focus solely on basketball and pitchers and catchers reporting :D :D :D

I agree. A lot of the blame has to go to the coaches. They let Peyton have 5-7 yard passes all day long rather than attacking him, and didn't play action enough in the beginning. Also, to beat my own dead horse even further, I'm still wondering about why the Bears of all teams never ever run the shotgun. Every single time I see Rex botch a snap, trip over his own feet shuffling backwards on the dropback, or get a pass deflected, I can't comprehend it at all.

That said, Rex deserves a lot of the blame. Sometimes, I think he's just a mental midget. He feels pressure that isn't always there, and makes some of the most idiotic throws. I still think he has a ton of talent, but I'm not sure if he'll ever get it. I sure hope he does, because I think the team should be good for a little while.

Well from the words of Soul (at least 3 times tonight) when do Pitchers and Catchers report. :D

I'm outta here. Good night, congrats to the Colts. Good season for the Bears, just didn't end the way we wanted it to. Now it's all about preserving this football team through the right contracts and acquisitions so the window doesn't close.

I don't think the Bears stretched the Colt D early enough in the game. I don't know that it would have mattered all that much. Rex wasn't on with the long ball.

The first interception, Moose was there, but the ball was floated. Bad throw.

The second interception, Berrian had the CB beat, he was behind Sanders (S) and Rex threw the ball short. If Rex leads Berrian on that throw it's a TD.

The D was terrible. They never changed their protection on the short pass. The Bears didn't get beat down the field, they got beat by playing off the receivers and not tackling well. Or not covering the RB/TE off the line. Just a bad scheme all the way around.

Sometimes being a Chicago fan is like getting kicked in the balls.

I need baseball to start to soon to help me forget this.

You think the Cubs are going to help your sorrows?

I was excited for baseball up until tonight, now I don't even care.

That made me smile.

Hey Packers fans, I now understand your hatred of John Elway. It makes perfect sense after tonight's debacle.

Um, the Bears tried to blitz Manning and they weren't getting to him. There is no point continuing to blitz and only having 5 in coverage rather than 7 if your blitzes aren't forcing Manning to get rid of the ball early. For how long the Colts offense was on the field, Manning rarely even got hit today.

No, they're the winner of the SB, not the best team in football, much less the best team in the world.

If that game is played on grass, Bears win. That may sound like sour grapes, but it's true. How about we actually have the SB in football conditions instead of a vacation destination.

I'm disappointed that the Bears lost, but I'm glad they made the Super Bowl just two years after string of losing seasons. Since the Colts are my second favorite team I'm not as disappointed as I would be otherwise. The Bears are still a team on the rise; I think there's a good chance we'll see them again in Super Bowl XLII (with a different outcome).

You don't think playing in sunny conditions without rain wouldn't have helped the Colts as well? Both teams had to play in the same conditions out there.
