  1. what do you call 99 years since last championship?
  2. its still early, its not good but its still early. at least we dont have a manager going out and saying "we were snake bit today"
  3. there must be something wrong with the tv, the Reds just scored 6 runs and some bum walked in 2
  4. gotta love all the t****ards who say this whenever someone is going well
  5. he dosent use the right arm to pitch with
  6. Agreed...trade him while his value is high. I'm not overreacting...I'm basing it on the fact that he will always be shaky because his BB rates will always be high then you would cry when he does well somewhere else
  7. because Zambrano goes on his normal rest
  8. I'm guessing any tickets sold already would be valid for that date, and any remaining tickets purchased will be priced as prime dates. Just called 800 the cubs and she said they dont know yet what the cubs are going to do. they could refund everyone who has the tickets, switch the ticket for another game and or honor the tickets/reprint them for this game
  9. Imagine what Pujouls would do to him
  10. Sweet Lord 900 Homers, anybody? Psh, he's gonna hit 1000. and Yankees fans will still boo him He'll be in Cubbie blue by then ;) And Barry Bonds WILL NOT show up. Book it. :D he will have long since died from all the damage he did by taking steroids.
  11. the main problem is Soriano isint getting on base enough, once he starts hitting that will change Marquis wasant great today but he wasant dreadful either. He kept us in the game and if it wasant for slappy Jr, the score wouldve only been 3-0 That change up Guzman threw to K Lee was pretty good in my opinon. Lee was miles ahead of that pitch
  12. I agree. I think Rich is going to have a better year than Carlos. In that scenerio. Lilly is not a bad #3 at all. Now what to do about #4 and #5, that's the problem. Well, I hope Carlos pitches like a 2 but I'm kinda thinking he'll be more like a 3--just a hunch. I'm encouraged by Hill and Lilly so far and anything half way decent out of Marquis is welcomed... Eventually, I think Guzman is going to be in the rotation (that's assuming Prior doesn't get himself together any time soon). maybe if Johan Santana and Jake Peavy are 1 and 2
  13. ugh and ill be at his next game as well
  14. I think and hope it gets canceled. We can use a regroup and get ready for Cincy...I'd like to start with Rich Hill on Friday... who's to say we wouldnt play on Thursday? they both have the day off
  15. I TiVo the Cubs highlights on BBTN, and I hate to disagree with you oldstyle, but that pitch would have punch Adam Everett out 9 out of 10 times. Pepole WHO KNOWS the strikezone knows Everett struckout (according to the strikezone) but unfortunately the Cubs drew an umpire who is clueless when it comes to the strikezone. Bad loss today, so I figure the Cubs will rope Sampson tomorrow. are you saying it was a ball or a strike? i have been saying it was a strike
  16. But he was and its still Howrys job as our supposed best reliever to get him out. Hell anything but give up a home run to Adam Freakin Everett. Howry and Eyre have been horrible so far this year. Money well spent there. 7 games.... Give it a little more than a week into they year before we evaluate if it was money well spent. The real comedy is in the game threads, after each win or loss they are either losing 100 games, or headed to the playoffs. I dont care if its 7 games into the season. The point of the matter is that its absolutely ignorant to spend big money on relievers. They are not worth it considering you have just as good of a chance using somebody from your own system. yeah we used a lot of guys from our own system last year, and they were God-awful. Howry is a good relief pitcher, even though half this board seems ready to bury him after two poor outings this year. howry is a good pitcher...but is the difference between his low-mid 3 era and wuertz's mid-high 3 era worth $3.5 million? and that pitch to everett was in no way a strike. what pitch were you watching it that was in "no way" a strike, then the wild pitch was in no way a ball
  17. most can relate on the scale i used and not the difference between the 125 million Zito got and the 180 Santana will probably get
  18. I guess we know what motivates Santana. I just lost a lot of respect for him. That quote there represents alot of things that are wrong with professional sports today. yep because everyone i know would take a job for 10 bucks a hour instead of the 30 bucks a hour to do the exact same thing that someone else offered. Especially in Santana's position of being the best pitcher in baseball.
  19. But he was and its still Howrys job as our supposed best reliever to get him out. Hell anything but give up a home run to Adam Freakin Everett. Howry and Eyre have been horrible so far this year. Money well spent there. yep i know he was, dosent change the fact he shouldnt have been only so much a pitcher can do when the strike zone shrinks and then gets bigger and vice versa with every single pitch
