I at this point can't see how anyone with any baseball knowlege at all could still defend Hendry.

 

I hate making this prediction, but the Cubs will not finish higher than fourth in the NL Central as long as Hendry is running this team.

Wow, this just keeps getting worse and worse. They get worse offensively (Walker/Izturis) and throw away more money for possible improvements.

 

Another day, another disaster. I really have no doubt that Hendry is doing some of this out of spite. He refuses to try and win any other way than with fast ball catchers and pitchers who walk everybody.

I'm going to pretend I didn't see this post. There's nothing to like about having someone on the same offensive level as Neifi playing every day. Not to mention he'll be getting paid more than Neifi to be Neifi for 2+ more years.

Well, it's been nice being a Cubs fan. But because of this trade, I hereby resign. While I wish players like Murton, Barret, Lee and Zambrano all the best in their Cub careers, I refuse to root for this team any more.

 

Hopefully, the Brewers will take me on as one of their own.

So basically you would of just kept Maddux, and let him walk for nothing? Izturis was a solid player in 04. .288 Average .330OBP 4hr 62RBI 25SB, not to mention the guy is excellent with the glove.
