    Not that it matters a lick, and I don't believe it, but the Pads' announcer on XM just said the Roberts deal was done, and MacPhail is simply deciding among the pool of Cub players now. :roll:

    A noble act for a noble cause. Whats the over under on # of pages after the trade is actually announced (if its ever announced)...my guess is that it woudl be suprisingly little...I mean...seriously, how much more can be said about Brian Roberts? That's a prerequisite? Who knew? :confused:

    For what it's worth: I can't find a podcast of this, but last night on "Orioles Hot Stove" (MASN), the two hosts mentioned to guest Buck Martinez that "several scouts" from teams, including the Orioles, are questioning the work ethic and current mindset of Ronny Cedeno during Spring Training. Martinez poo-pooed it and the discussion went no further than mentioning that Cedeno would be coming over in the rumored deal for Roberts, and that Cedeno would become the Orioles' 2B or SS. It was a very strange 60 seconds of cable TV, but I wonder if anyone else has heard the current rumors concerning Cedeno?

    I realize I'm a relative newbie, so I respectfully request that if anyone wants to continue arguing with w23 or dm, they do so without quoting them in their post. It negates the "foe" feature, and I don't want to add any more folks by association with them.

    You want some cheese with that whine? There is no news. We've had a smattering of published media reports, a few comments from Mr. Miles and massive amounts of speculation disguised as "rumor" from "sources" or "guys". Of all the posts among the last 200 pages, I can think of hundreds more deserving of a "cheese with that whine" rebuff.

    I like Roberts a lot, but I have no problem going to war with DeRosa as an everyday 2B. Strengthen the rotation!

    Oh my god, he's an all-star! We have to get him! Mark Loretta, David Eckstein, and Mark Redman are all-stars too. These names, and names like them, are always brought out to argue "all-star" status, and it's fair, but Roberts is a legitimate All-Star. Bold prediction: if Roberts is traded to the Cubs, he will back up Chase Utley at the 2008 All-Star game. Legitimately.
