  1. The problem with the whole discussion of Bush's Heisman is that nobody gives a [expletive]
  2. Here's hoping. He's had a total of 4 halves of competitive soccer since last fall. As far as I can tell he's the fifth choice in central defense. Behind Nesta, Thiago Silva, Papastathopoulos and Yepes. EDIT: And possibly also Daniele Bonera. Basically, he ain't playin'.
  3. The pbp and color guys for this tournament are light-years better than almost any baseball pbp and color guys
  4. I could be misremembering this, but I thought I remember Rossi being the first ever Italian player to play in a league other than serie a. Yeah, you're definitely misremembering that. And many others. Wow, I really whiffed on that one. Zola, jeez. Maybe, it was their 2006 team that was entirely made up of Serie A players. correct
  5. Roma has Cassetti and Motta on the right, and both are better than Dolo. There's no merit to that rumor
  6. I agree with Wahl's roster with one exception. I'd substitute Rogers for Bedoya. In actuality I'd substitute Adu for Bedoya, but that's not an option. Basically it's the 23rd man and all I want is the most dangerous guy for a 5-10 minute end-of-game sub when scoring a goal is absolutely necessary. And I really hope you're wrong USS. Ching is perfect for holdup play with the lead.
  7. I'm obviously a Chelsea fan but I wouldn't have minded in the least if Pompey had won the cup today. Their supporters, players, staff, etc. don't deserve what has happened to them. Winning the cup would've at least given them some happiness during an otherwise horrendous season. They really showed the best side of professional football today. The fans and players really gave it their all. It would have been incredibly special to see them lift the Cub after everything. Avram Grant, of all people, being the guy to hold that team together? Unreal. I'm looking forward to the end of Serie A as well. If Roma end up top, that would be unbelievable considering how dead that side was to start the season. Almost.
  8. Put it this way if on the last day of the season the Cubs had nothing to play for, but a win would help keep the Cards from winning the division would you be upset if the Cubs lost. I was not rooting for a loss, but I am not upset by it either. anyone see the Lazio fans cheering on Inter Milan against their own team today?
  9. i ate a baby
  10. I'll come out and say it: the organization is a bunch of [expletive] assholes
  11. jozy is kicking ass right now
  12. Marco Materazzi
  13. hopefully jimmy conrad played himself out of a spot at least. edit: oh, USS already said that. guess I should read.
  14. well, that was a useless friendly
  15. all i know is that i am going to be getting jack squat done tomorrow afternoon.
  16. All I can really remember about our discussion after that game was that we agreed Kerry Zavagnin should be put down. But yeah, our depth blew then and it blows now too.
  17. C'mon AFC and NZ
  18. a diagonal sash? why?
  19. yes he has been banned. i'd like to think there are other people on this board who are passionate about hockey but also emotionally stable. if you want me to jump into this thread and throw around sexual assault terms on a regular basis, I can do that.
  20. I still question how United is doing this. Soccer Jesus is amazing. Milan are terrible. That roster is old and past it. at least gooch will get some playing time. the inevitable nesta breakdown has happened
  21. All 4 of those sites would allow Honduras to outdraw the US. Well maybe not Chicago, but it would be close. Chicago wouldn't be close. They'd get outdrawn 4-1. it just happened this summer.
  22. I wish they would've just done it during the offseason. It was obvious that Spalletti was unhappy with the transfers. I don't mind Ranieri. I'm tired of watching the defense get shredded, so if this helps I'm all for it.
  23. http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/design05/images/2009/0827/franckriberylederhosen_205x285.jpg I can't see this ending well. Considering their stadium seats 83k or something like that, this really isn't very much beer.
  24. links?
  25. 1st row seats for gold cup on thursday!
