How is a goalie not a "right player for the team"? A good goalie is the right player for every team. A good goalie is a good goalie. I don't see how team is a factor... unless yo're talking about his character btw those sarcastic huet comments weren't made towards you. they were at Q for pulling him for no reason after the 1st Huet's biggest weakness is he tends to give up long rebounds. In the playoffs, he'll need a team of big, physical defensemen to keep the front of the net clear. The Blackhawks' defensemen are good, but they aren't that type. Or he'll need to not give up long rebounds, since that's basically death for any goalie. -
Where? LP Field That's actually kind of cool. I'd expect some good support there -EDIT: Ives seems to think Soldier Field is going to get the June 6th qualifier against Honduras. ME LIKEY Nice. Depending on where the Labor Day game is I'll probably try and go to that too.

I want to go, but I just can't figure out a way to make it work logistically. I'm holding out hope for a Hex game in Toyota Park. I'm doubting it will happen. I'm holding out hope that we don't have the Labor Day weekend hex game in Salt lake City. If it's anywhere else where my buddies and I can show up and drink and have a good time for a weekend, we're probably going. Especially if we can clinch qualification. I didn't even consider possible Labor Day sites...hmmm. I wish the USSF would get on with announcing all the sites already, you know...so fans can plan to attend. Wouldn't want any sort of home support, would we? planning? bah.... I bet I make my reservations for south Africa before the USMNT does.

Simek hasn't been healthy in forever. I really liked him, so I'm hoping he breaks out of it sometime soon.

If he was actually playing for his club, ?? could be Adu. But it won't be. Best case scenario is Torres. Worst case is Beasley. Honestly, DMB hasn't done anything for me in 4 years. He shouldn't be starting-certainly, if Freddy isn't, he shouldn't be. We're going to have some firepower on the bench, though, with Jozy, Freddy and Davies. yeah, my guess is Torres.

It appears that US Soccer is not doing a presale for ussoccerfan.com members for the US-Mex game in Columbus. There was a presale through Sam's Army and the American outlaws, and there will be a "special presale" for Visa cardholders for a day before the sale to the general public (i.e. anyone who's apparently [expletive] enough to not have a Visa card). The bottom line is that Gulati screwed this one up by not having a general ussoccerfan.com presale and now the crowd will be 80% Mexican.

I find it hard to compare anyone to Appiah because he's such a perfectly chiseled form of human being, but I think the playing styles are at least somewhat similar

Eh. It was a decent goal. Nothing super amazing, nice control, but the opposing keeper was way off his line for some reason. Nice strike and dip. What's between Gattuso and Ballack? Simone Perrotta? Steven Appiah?

Man City reminds me of the earlier iterations of Inter, before Moratti had any clue what he was doing, and when he used to just buy random attacking players willy-nilly, and then change most of them on a yearly basis, while arbitrarily sticking with one ones that sucked. P.S. There is no way in balls that gennaro Gattuso could score the goal we see above. No way.
