It's a fing wednesday night, for one, and secondly, the tickets are obscenely overpriced. I blame Sunil. I still did my part by pulling down 20 tickets.

I just pulled up 2 tickets in section 117, row 22. So no, ticket sales are not going well at all.

Rumor has it he wants to play for Germany. Apparently Rongen really pissed him off.

Good: Howard, Boca, Gooch, the limited minutes of Edu and Beasley Decent, in certain ways: Ching (excellent lone forward when we don't need to actually go forward...talk about a backhanded compliment), Hejduk (no touch, but holy crap can he annoy anyone near him with the ball), Pearce (if he's got a decent wing guy in front of him [read: Beasley, not Lewis] he can actually defend instead of trying to cover two positions and then getting burned) Almost entirely bad: Donovan, Dempsey, Lewis (though only because he took an awful shot, otherwise he wouldn't have made this lofty category), the terrible midfield pairing of Bradley and Mastro Ho-riffic: Cherundolo, Bradley's tactics An abomination to all mankind: Mr. Ref from Suriname

Gooch is fairly big on anti-racism in soccer, I think, so I'm doubting he'd actually be interested in Lazio, with their Nazi-saluting, Paolo DiCanio lookalike fans. I see USS has made the same point.

I know the thinking is that this is going to be the toughest tie in the 2nd round of WCQ, on the road, hostile stadium, etc, so thus the veteran heavy lineup... ...but do you really think we'd drop points to fricking Guatemala if we had Parkhurst in the central defense, Wynne at least on the roster, Benny and Bradley in the middle, and Cooper and Davies or Dempsey up front? Come on, Bradley. This ish is getting old fast. There are 5 really questionable decisions on this roster: No Kenny Cooper (Pending) Hejduk over Wynne No Benny Feilhaber EJ Eddie Lewis I mean, I like Sascha getting the call, but Hejduk shouldn't be in the pool anymore except in case of a rash of injuries to the backs. He's not going to figure into 2010 (at least he'd better not). The Hejduk thing pisses me off more than anything else, really. Lewis, fine. He's actually still pretty decent. Benny? He should be there if he's fit because he's our only real linking mid. But if he needs to report to Derby or find another club, I kind of get it. EJ? F him, but at least he's still theoretically with some upside. Cooper will likely be the 18th guy, so that tempers EJ wearing the shirt. Jozy is hurt or whatever, so fine. But Hejduk? And are we seriously going to only play Gooch and Boca in the central defense? Heaven help us if one of them get hurt in the Hex. We haven't played anyone else in that spot yet. If this were the Hex and not the goofy assed 2nd round...I'd almost wish for a shock loss just to kill off some of these vets and put some pressure on Bradley to do something other than this crap. The really sad part is that my first reaction was to be happy that Dan Califf wasn't on the roster.

They still have Darren Bent and at the moment still have Berbatov. Ramos is really looking to bring in his own squad, though, if you believe even half the transfer rumors about Spurs - Bentley from Blackburn being the latest. The problem for Tottenham is that Liverpool have definitely improved with Torres and Keane together up front. Arsenal still don't seem to have the depth that caused some of their problems last season, but they're obviously talented. So Spurs basically look to be fighting Everton and Aston Villa for 5th, imo. Granted many things can change before the transfer window closes. This is what blows my mind: It's one thing to sell players for a profit and invest in players Ramos wants to put his own fingerprint on it; it's another thing altogether to sell those players to the teams you want to unseat. Making Liverpool and Man U better is not what Tottenham and Aston Villa should be doing. the bottom line is that until they figure out how to refurbish or replace White Hart Lane, Tottenham will need to continue doing this, because they simply don't get the revenue from their home ground that the big teams do.

Weird. At first ticketmaster only let me get 4 tickets, so I bought 4 in the 2nd row of sec 117. Then I went back into the system and got another 16 in row 8 of the same section.

The latest rumor is Julio Baptista. I was hoping that Inter would part-swap Suazo for mancini, but I guess they're hanging onto him so he can ride the bench all year.
