  1. Spain's central D pair isn't good enough to win them Euros. I know it's just a friendly, but they can't handle the ball. If Johnson wasn't doing his half-ass jogging routine out there, he would've stolen a couple of those balls they stroked around back there in the first half. With Jozy up front we probably would've scored twice today. Edu is so much better than Rico Clark it's not even funny. Right now I'd take Eddie Lewis over anything else we've got to offer on the left side. Unless you wanted to move Freddy out there when landycakes comes back. It's obvious Freddy needs to play, since he was the best guy on the field today. DMB needs to get back into decent form with a club side before he plays major minutes for the USMNT. Gooch impressed me today right up until Xavi pulled his pants around his ankles. Frankie hedjuk is Jonathan Bornstein with 12 years, a switch of sides, and longer hair. Just give the ball away and run like hell.
  2. There are just some guys who seems to get a big hit every time they come to the plate againt us. Augie Ojeda, Jeff Keppinger, Hall etc. way to continue to ignore facts and plow directly ahead
  3. He's pretty good. probably should have been picked for the Euro squad. Not a total whack it clear guy either, he can handle the ball and pass a bit too.
  4. Sven is going to make them very good. and he's going to throw out the old riff-raff players that badmouthed him.
  5. You definitely can. It just takes a goalie that's on fire.
  6. but did he score any runs with his glove?
  7. When we did the "who should never play for the Nats again" thing a couple of pages back, I seriously considered putting both Hejduk and Mastroeni, but then I thought "wait, there's not way these guys are seriously being considered, is there?" God dammit
  8. Too bad Jack Warner will undermine any attempt we make for WC 2018. I'm completely resigned to the fact we're not getting it, already. Also, thank god the OTC (that's Dan Califf, the Orange Traffic Cone) is on the roster for Spain. Let's see him try and man-mark Torres. Hilarious.
  9. Can I just add that despite the fact that Rico Clark was the only player on the field that was in-season, he looked like hot ass? Also, when Frankie Hejduk showed up on the field I just laughed. Also, I'm unsure as to whether or not Josh Wolff actually played in the game. P.S. how long is Bradley going to get a free pass from the US Soccer media for only having one formation?
  10. Suck it, Mexico (Orozco), Adu and Feilhaber in the shop window and please someone sign our aging, crap forwards (Wolff, Jaqua)! Selfishly would've liked to see Altidore, but with hints of fatigue and his minutes piling up this past season, why not save him for Spain or Argentina (considering he lives 3 blocks away from Meadowlands, he's a lock for that one). Would have also liked to see Edu, but I have a sneaking suspicion Clark is trying to make a move and they are putting him in the window too. Obviously Bradley is in the window, but he is at the point where he doesn't need any further advertising. By the way, I was thinking about this the other day. Karim Benzema, a 20 year old striker, scored 26 goals in Ligue Uhh last year. He is probably going to transfer somewhere (Man United) for around 30 million dollars. Michael Bradley, a 20 year old holding midfielder, scored 21 goals in the Eredivisie, a comprable league and will probably draw a transfer fee of around 12 million dollars this summer. No respect at all. Karim benzema is viciously good and worth every penny paid for him. Not that I don't think Mikey Bradely isn't worth more, I'm just saying Benzema is absolutely that good. My 3 players are EJ, Twellman, Convey. Also I'd like to make an additional shout out for Ramiro Corrales, whose game against Mexico was the single worst game I can ever recall a left back playing, ever. i know he'll probably never be called up again, but I just want it to be written in stone.
  11. I was a little hopeful until Ibra came on. He was pretty much all that was necessary. I was just hoping his hip was still injured.
  12. 4 years ago my buddy Alex bought the whole package from Dish Network and then we both worked schedules where we got to work at 5 AM and then left early and hung out at his house and ordered takeout Chinese at least 5 days a week for the length of the tournament
  13. I played against RJ once or twice when I was in high school, and he was damn good back then. I have to say that if Umberger and Richards are the only two Flyers forwards that play worth a damn, this series is not going to last very long. They have seven 20 goal scorers, and some of them really need to step it up. briere and Carter, in particular. They both looked awful.
  14. badass indeed. i'm only counting 4 games that only available on espn deportes. i'm really excited for this thing to start. i'm a england fan, so i obviously don't have an rooting interest this year, but i'm looking forward to quality footie. I'm counting no games that are only available on ESPN deportes
  15. badass
  16. The battle of PA begins tonight on Versus / VersusHD. yes, I know your channel guide says versusHD is showing some golf tournament. it's not. Even the people at versus aren't that dumb.
  17. I'm smokin mine rebate check or crack?
  18. Please god tell me this is just a misspelling
  19. Hmmm. There;s this guy down in Iowa that I think could come up and really pitch the lights out. What's his name....Hill, I think.
  20. I should go. yes you should
  21. If you're going to say something about me looking dumb, you probably don't want to spell the word asinine wrong in the previous sentence. I don't know how much more clearly I can make my point, but I'll try one last time. Ryan Theriot is the Cubs starting shortstop. Ronny Cedeno is the backup middle infielder. When the starter is doing his job, and playing a lot better than he's expected to, he's not going to get benched. Nor should he. What kind of message does that send to the rest of the team, when the starter gets benched after playing great for the first month of the season? By the way, Theriot is 1-1 with a stolen base and a run so far tonight. Cedeno is 0-1 with a weak tapper back to third base. I know, I know... sample size. You know you lost an argument when you begin your counterargument by pointing out spelling errors. You know you're reading a sethuel post in Baseball Discussions when it's only one line, and not about the actual baseball discussion. Seriously, try and add something of value sometime. It's readily apparent that you don't respond to posts that are of value, as demonstrated by your responses in this thread. So I'll continue my one liners, thank you

  23. this game is awesome
  24. I might be an idiot, but I think Cleveland gets them. I think they are a decent team that would have been about 7th best in the West. 7th in the West? They have LeBron but they're not that good outside of him. I realize they made the Finals last year with just LeBron and a bunch of role players, but I don't think there's any chance they get past Boston in the second round. No I mean Boston as 7th in the West. Really? Yeah I like all the four teams left and Phoenix and Dallas better than them. I like the big three, but after that I don't. Rondo and Perkins are just bleh. Well, they played 30 games against the West this year. They went 25-5. So that means that in the other 22 games against the West and the 30 games against the East you'd have them going 26-26? Boston may not dominate in the playoffs (although there is certainly plenty of history for a team struggling in one round and then coming back and plying well in later rounds), but they didn't win 66 games just by being in the East. They thoroughly dominated both conferences during the season by being the most consistent team. I never said I was right. I just don't think they are that good. I think they were able to beat up on a bad East and take the West games more seriously than the West teams did against them. Guys, from now on when I make an argument don't assume that I actually believe in the validity of said argument.
  25. You're a pathetic idiot. I don't see a problem with the original statement?? Jehrico's a soldier. He can and should have a problem with that statement. So that means Jehrico shouldn't be angry at rapist soldiers? He should be angrier that there are people who point out that there are rapist soldiers, apparently.
