Will someone start an official When-Will-Jacque-Jones-Get-A-Hit pool?

you do realize that he ended up getting a hit, right? wouldn't you take that over a run scoring sac bunt or a rally killing caught stealing?

I gotta disagree with you here. A lot of Juan Pierre's AVG and OBP is generated from infield/bunt hits. The chance to score the runner and be safe at 1st is pretty good, IMO.

Couldn't have said it better, BBB.

Also, it only took that one attempt to get the defense off balance. While Pierre didn't need a bigger hole to punch the ball through since it was a line drive base hit, it's possible that with the 1b playing a bit closer and leaning towards home that a Pierre grounder could get through.

But, I'm not against Pierre attempting the squeeze because he is a very good bunter, and not really a "sacrifice" bunter.

Where did I say it is not a risk? I said it's not very risky. I didn't say it's not risky. With the Combo we had. Speedy Cedeno at 3rd, and Pierre at bat. That's exactly when I want to see a squeeze. Why are we even argueing about this, he got the hit anyway?

OK, so the point at issue was whether it was risky or very risky. Got it.

God, I love Wrigley. I can't wait for Sunday when I'm going to be there.

Me too - and three of my buds. Interested in meeting up for a mini-NSBB get together?

Jackie Robinson honored in a beer commercial. Now his legacy will live on.

It's not like MLB retired his number major leagues-wide or anything, so I'm glad he got some more recognition.

And let's not forget how Chicago fans like to listen to Spike Lee's opinions about sports.

Here's a depressing question: Mabry or Jones in RF?

ANSWER: Angel Pagan!!!

My sentiments exactly. But do you really think Dusty will go with 3 youngsters?

how can any play that involves having a guy blindly sprint toward home plate while the pitched ball is heading to the guy standing right on top of home plate be 'not very risky'? a missed bunt, an unbuntable ball out of the strike zone, or a popped up bunt is a disaster.
