No sense in giving the records since they haven't pitched yet. Lets get back to these winning ways. If there's one thing I love, its a good beatdown of the birds.

GO CUBS!

Yeah, the date was wrong :(

The forecast doesn't exactly look promising. High of 47, winds gusting close to 30 mph, and a 70% chance of rain/wintry mix. The wind chill could be below 30 for most of the game.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Jeff Suppan (16-10 with a 3.57 ERA in 2005)

Noteworthy Match-ups (St. Louis Cardinals) Vs. Greg Maddux (13-15 with a 4.24 ERA in 2005)

Both team's hitters hit pretty well against the opposing pitcher. It'd be interesting to see how it works with the wind blowing in...

I'd really like to win the first two of this series to take some pressure off Marshall when he makes his first start on Sunday night. I'll miss Saturday's game though due to visiting family :(

winds gusting close to 30 mph,

What direction?

In from left/left-center.

If it's last year's team, we don't have a chance of winning.

I just hope one of our starters can go more then 5 innings or else or bullpen will be spent by May! Let's hope Maddux and Zambrano bring their "A" game. We need to make some noise this series or we might be 10 games out by May.

Good forecast for Mad Dog, we should be in good shape provided we worked on defending the suicide squeeze in spring training.

like you guys have mentioned, it is a good forecast for Maddux. Hopefully we won't have to rely on the long ball on offense like we did yesterday.

Go Cubs.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried that they will get this one in. Pretty much the weather that will be occuring during tomorrows game is just about the worst weather that we will experience in Chicago during a 2 week span (one week after Friday and one week before Friday). It figures...

During the middle of the game we will be getting rain/snow, 27 MPH winds and it will feel like 28 degrees outside. Bundle up if your going, I know I will.

I'll be driving up to Chicago when this game is on... is it 720 AM in central Illinois too?

we can in fact get 720 in Peoria, but here are a couple of others (depending on your route)

Clinton (IL, just south of Bloomington) WHOW-AM 1590

Peoria WWFS-AM 1290

Springfield WFMB-AM 1450

full listing here: http://www.tribuneradio.com/cubsaffilliates.htm

or...XM radio will always give you great reception O:)

(can you tell I love my XM?!?)

Have a safe trip!

The outfield will be soaked, but it looks like most of the rain should come before the game. Still, the weather is going to be miserable.

Well, not really, last year's team beat the cards more than they lost to them...

The wind blowing in has to be an advantage for Maddux. Hopefully, the Cubs get on base and take care of their own business against Soupcan.

He's talking about the wind blowing in, whenver it's blowing in the Cubs still try to jack every pitch out of the park.

Yeah, I know which is why I added the part about the Cubs getting on base... Heck, they were below .500 at home last year. They have to start playing better there.
