  1. Hey there! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been around, but you can blame that on the Peoria franchise moving to the Cardinals years ago. My hubby and I have recently moved to AZ and I’m thinking we might go see our first rookie league game tonight. Would love to hear thoughts on the talent that’s here!
  2. I completely understand, and it is my firm preference to manage my team better than I have this year. That said, I got a new and unexpected job change in April this year, so have been working a lot, along with spending half of my summer nights at the ballpark watching the Chiefs. I know these are excuses, and didn't really want to get into the details, because ultimately it doesn't matter. I just haven't had the time that I anticipated having when I rejoined the league, but didn't want to leave the league stranded. However, this is a fun, nice-to-have for me and am perfectly OK if you'd like to replace me. This was fun once upon a time, but I am clearly not hardcore enough for this crowd.
  3. Finally had a chance to deal with LoMo going to the DL today. All my DL spots are taken, so just put him on the bench and put Ichiro in the lineup.
  4. Hi All! Apologies I haven't been checking in like I should. I did receive PMs loud and clear. Within a day of receiving, I did have a chance to go in and make the necessary changes to my lineup. As someone alluded to, it was exactly accurate that Drew Storen has been on my DL since the beginning of the season, and then came off. I had about 3-4 of my starters that were on the DL going in to the All-Star Break, and clearly didn't pick up on my extra relief guy. Penalize me however you wish...I don't think I'm going to win big this year anyway. Honestly, the Yahoo league I'm in is a whole lot easier to maintain and is much more dummy-proof for the likes of someone like me that doesn't have much more than a couple of minutes here and there during the week to do what I need to do. Apologies for my oversight and the lack of responsiveness...honestly, as far as priorities in life, this is at the bottom of the list and am totally OK with that decision :) All the Best, Karen
  5. Joey Bats to the DL with wrist inflammation - swapped him out with Emilio Bonafacio who just came off the DL. Would just love some of my pitchers to come off the DL now!
  6. I believe all of the Cub minor league teams have video interns this year...we got one here in Peoria too. Part of the new regime :)
  7. I get that...my point is I would like to have *some* other measure other than offense in the mix. I'm open if that's something other than errors, just don't want to see the defensive side of the game get discounted any more than it already is in fantasy...
  8. it was supposed to be raining in Peoria today, but the sun is out and it's a great night for baseball. Humidity is down, as are temps. *Very* glad because it's been awfully fun watching them over the last 10 days or so :)
  9. think I'm pretty well with everyone too: No - but would be OK with 1 60-day DL spot, and 3 15-day Keep it in March, maybe even run it alongside the major league draft so we don't run out of time. No to positional outfielders...I will say I'm in favor of keeping errors. It's the one thing that's really defensively minded. If someone has a great bat but lousy glove, they need to pay the price for that tradeoff, IMO.
  10. oh my goodness - I totally slipped up on this one. When Brandon McCarthy came off the DL, I forgot to drop one of my pitchers. I can't believe I did that...it's been a week(?!?) Mortified I forgot to do this...my win last week was close too...not sure of the punishment in this sort of situation, but am willing to take it whatever is decided. Again, my apologies for not catching this.
  11. no ideas on good new manager candidates, but definitely looks like one is needed. Sorry I can't be of help.

    Week 7

    Had a chance to take a look at this today... Sunday Starts - please remove points from Sock It Thomes: Lewis, Colby SP TEX 8.0 1 1 0 1 0 0 0 6 1 4 1.125 0.6250 30.50 Lowe, Derek SP CLE 6.0 1 1 0 0 1 0 0 2 1 6 3.000 1.1667 15.50 Again, apologies - hopefully it'll never happen again, but if it does, will do my best to grab points ASAP. Thanks for making the fix. Karen

    Week 7

here is a dumb question - how do i see how many points each of your pitchers piled up in those games? i can see how many points they had during the week, which doesn't do me much good since they each made two starts. and i can see how many points they got yesterday, which again doesn't do me any good since i want sunday's stats. Boy, I thought this would be easy...but not so much! From what I can tell, I had 9 starts total: Morrow x 2 McCarthy x 1 Lowe x 2 Lewis x 2 Saunders x 1 Wolf x 1 of these, Lowe and Lewis were the 2 that started on Sunday, so those are the points that need to go. For the week, Lowe scored 57 and Lewis scored 41, but I can't find a place to break out the numbers. Is this something where I'll need to go in and get their complete stat lines and manually calc in order to get the scores? I'm happy to do this, but if there's an easier way, I'm all for hearing it :)

    Week 7

Hi Everyone! Juan just messaged me (thanks Juan!) - I had updated my lineup so that only Derek Lowe should have been starting today, but instead I have 3 different folks starting. I'm not sure what I did - probably forgot to hit save. With that said, because of my mistake, I have 9 starts. Not sure how this is normally addressed? Remove the top 2 scores and keep the lowest? I apologize - honesstly thought I had things covered, but clearly didn't. If someone with the commish role could assist in adjusting my score appropriately, it would be much appreciated. Juan, again, my apologies...I really thought I had things adjusted! Thanks!

    Week 4

just a reminder that the new park in Miami is covered, no concern over washouts down there any longer...
  16. I have it, but haven't used it on my computer in years...we use it mostly to connect to the MLB At Bat app on our ipads and to the Roku devices we have in the house. This way, we don't have to purchase MLB Extra Innings, and get more out of the one subscription we do have. In general, I haven't seen specific issues with things this year. As I recall, there have been browser compatibility issues and so on in the past, so you may want to check the user forum they have to talk through all of those specifics.
  17. Happy Opening Day in Peoria :) Right on schedule, the low for the evening = 33. Looking forward to seeing the guys for the first time tonight, though!
  18. I think we need to clarify that this isn't illegal. We have enough confusion in this league without calling legal rosters illegal just bc you have some starting player spots empty. Yes, thank you. *I* know it's legal and what has to happen in order to stay at the number of starts required, but in case someone sees on the league that I'm coming up illegal, that's why. The tools on CBS are great, until they aren't! Darn Brandon McCarthy - 2 starts in the first week a good thing, but had to forsake others to get those in :)
  19. just a heads-up that my roster's currently illegal. Had to sit a couple of SP in order to only have 4 starts the first week. Also picked up Fernando Rodney as a RP while Drew Storen's on the shelf.
  20. Sorry, everyone. Not sure how I missed Hultzen getting picked, but I sure did. Hopefully Jacobs is really still available :) Karen
  21. I've got at least one minor leaguer I'll be dropping, so will need the 3rd round as well...
  22. agreed
  23. didn't even think of this until I went to try and add Cole - since our MLB draft is still going on, couldn't do any adds or drops. Will wait until the MLB draft is done.
  24. can someone remind me...once we've drafted a minor leaguer, if they're available in the system, are we supposed to go into CBS and pick them up? I'm hazy on what I did last year!
  25. only sort-of related to the thread...I got to see LaHair from the bleachers at Fitch yesterday and: 1) the dude is HUGE 2) he can crush the ball - his 1st 4 abs were triple, double, ground-out, single. I was also surprised how quick he was for how big a guy he is. Always kinda cool to see the big league guys from 10 feet away!
