  1. Greetings from lovely Mesa, AZ all :) This is a much better reason to not be near a computer (even if it has only been in the 50s the last 2 days)!!! The PMs were very much appreciated. I will check in 1st thing in the AM and last thing in the PM AZ time to see what's up. 1. Scioscia's Tragic Illness - Trevor Bauer, Arizona 2. Calvinball - Danny Hultzen, Seattle 3. Harrys Budcrew - Dylan Bundy, Baltimore 4. Mighty D-Block - Bubba Starling, KC 5. Sock it Thome - Gerritt Cole, Pittsburgh 6. Habitual Linesteppers (from NorthsideBaseball (from Alamo Stealth)) 7. Kid Rodelo 8. Theocracy 9. Quakers 10. Ron Washington's Dealers 11. NSBB (from Habitual Linesteppers) 12. Quakers (from Tootielicious) 13. Calvinball (from GHS) 14. Calvinball (from NSBB) 15. The Eyes of Texas 16. Scioscia's Tragic Illness (from Bazingas)
  2. so confirmed! I was thinking that I had something missing that I had given up, but then figured I must have dreamed it. Think we originally documented on the cbs board, not over here, so that's probably how we managed to miss it! ok... is there any record of that? it's not in the 2012 draft pick thread and i feel like i'd probably need karen to confirm this since i can't find anything about it on this board. also (for all), if all we have to sort out is this 8th round pick - having already set the draft order and agreed who is major league draft eligible and who isn't - when do we start? probably will need to confirm with Karen because I did not see it on the board either..
  3. Apologies that I missed this - somehow I forgot that Colby Lewis played before his injury season a few years ago and didn't check back that far as I was looking. I do want to keep Lewis and have dropped Jeremy Guthrie. That makes my list look like: Bautista - 618.25 Kinsler - 571.25 Morrow - 358.5 Storen - Exempt Morrison - Exempt Bosch - Exempt Tabata - Exempt C. Lewis - 405.5 ______________________ 1953.5 Again, apologies for the flub, and thanks much to Bob for catching it :) hate to be the bearer of bad news, but colby lewis isn't exempt... he's had 5 seasons in which he's pitched at least 15 games. Yeah, 3 seasons of 5 or more starts would have been okay if he didn't also have 2 seasons with 10 or more appearances. Are you checking the legality of every team?
  4. I've updated the membership spreadsheet with Jeff's details. Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aio7z7CoxX0idEZnUGFDa2U3aDdOaHAxRXdzSmlWdkE#gid=0 It's secured by address, so if you can't get in, there is one of 2 things going on: 1) I have the wrong email 2) the link above "expires" Either way, let me know via PM and I'll take care of it.
  5. OK, sorry I didn't get around to these until now. I need to put a reminder on my calendar at work a week ahead of 2/14 so I remember to go do this :) Bautista - 618.25 Kinsler - 571.25 Guthrie - 394.5 Morrow - 358.5 Storen - Exempt Morrison - Exempt Bosch - Exempt Tabata - Exempt C. Lewis - Exempt ______________________ 1942.5
  6. I don't care if we do the drafts all in one day, or if we extend them. However, I can tell you that I leave for AZ to watch a bunch of baseball on 3/16 and won't be home until 3/24. Love y'all, but if we're going to do a everything in one day draft that's gonna take a ton of time, it's not going to be on my vacation. Pre 3/16 or 3/25 and later are good for me.

    Paid Dues

just sent via Paypal - sorry I've been such a slacker. Setting my roster next...
  8. Arg...I know #-o Hopefully you will be nice to me and have a couple of negative starts in order to give me a chance. :good: Happy to oblige...Marquis looked like Marquis tonight. He actually would have won, despite 5 earned, except he couldn't make it a full 5 innings. Bah humbug. Oh, and Sam Fuld has 7 on my bench, vs freaking Ryan Howard with 2.5. Start hitting, for goodness sake!
  9. Thanks for the heads-up related to Guthrie's relief appearance. Luckily, this was a week where my starters had 8 among them at the beginning of the week, so should still be able to get my 7 starts in. Have adjusted my pitching accordingly and will be thankful that I'll still get all my starts in. Happy Friday! ps - Al, watch out...5 starts in the next 2 days! I'm coming for ya :)
  10. Go Karen! Possible two game lead. :) Game cancelled. You lucky SOB ;-). It's up to the Offense now. Sorry, Shane. We're both at 4-1. This is just to give me the division lead on my own. Hard not to love Bautista raking the way he is...makes up a little bit for Clayton Richard taking a big dump earlier in the week. I almost felt bad, hoping the Nats would get into a save situation so they could bring in Storen. Ultimately liked this week, my record doesn't show it, but feel like I'm headed in the right direction.
  11. hi all :) work has been crazy lately, so apologies for not having a ton of time to talk fantasy bb. Just wanted to make note that Logan Morrison has been activated off of the DL, so I have added him to my starting lineup and benched Chase Headley.
  12. alright, Logan Morrison is on his way to the DL - do I need to wait until he's officially there? He's on crutches, so know it's imminent. I had picked up Sam Fuld earlier today and dropped Marco Scutaro (go figure). Wanted to be sure to do the right thing...probably won't help a darn this week, anyhow, as Matt Cain was uncharacteristically sucky and Carl Pavano had his every 3rd week meltdown. Won't be able to catch Tim, especially with LoMo out, but wanted to give it a try. Let me know if I'm good to swap Fuld for LoMo or if I've gotta wait? Thx much - think all this AZ sun is getting to me :)

    Week 2

find it interesting that the West has the top 3 folks in points. Just happy to get a win - last year was my rebuilding year after inheriting a mess, so would like to think this year would be better. Oh, and would like to think that, if Jeremy Guthrie would have avoided pneumonia, I could have taken the other 2 :P Happy Monday all!
  14. Yeah, that must be it. That has to suck to find out midweek that your 2b isn't allowed to be a 2b. But, since he wasn't supposed to be moved anyway........ I guess we will need a ruling on how this one should be handled for the rest of this week. As I look at Bob's live scoring roster, he currently shows two people at 3b today with one of them having an off day today. Do we take away any points McGehee scores today and then place him on the bench for the rest of the week? I'm leaving early tomorrow for the weekend, so this will need to be resolved today. I'd tend to give a bit of benefit of the doubt to a rookie; this is my 7th season in the league and I'm still not sure I have all of the nuances of the rules down. I think he should know that midweek changes aren't allowed unless for specified exceptions such as injury, but I don't hold him responsible for not knowing McGehee isn't eligible at 2B since he was active at the start of the season; that seems to me to be a CBS glitch, not Bob's fault. How about reversing the lineup swap, counting McGehee's points at 2B (but not the replacement's) for this week, then requiring him to use McGehee at 3B or U or bench him starting next week? That would give him a fair chance to find a replacement if desired. agreed! I know I made a couple of these sorts of errors last year, so glad I'm not the only one. :-)
  15. thanks for taking care of Chuck's situation, Brian - much appreciated! I am going to be switching out Jeremy Guthrie for Colby Lewis. Guthrie got hospitalized for pneumonia and was released yesterday, I think. He'll be missing at least his expected start today, and is doubtful for later, so am subbing Lewis, who's start isn't until 4/8.
  16. actually, in minor league camp they alllll have their last names on the back of their jerseys. I don't have a picture, but we get to Spring Training most years, and those jerseys have names...it's just when they go play in a MLB game, they get a different jersey with a different number. It's also not unusual for there to be several folks with the same number playing in the same group, so can't just yell "hey 8, get a move on". Coaches generally seem to use last name, and especially at the beginning of ST, there are a lot of guys around, so I'd think the names on the back would be a sanity saving measure for the coaching staff, if nothing else :D
  17. The only fair thing I can think of is to not allow any points earned by the added player until the illegal roster has been fixed. Thoughts? Agreed, but also think that if he's got him on the DL so he doesn't have to drop an extra position player from his bench, that's not exactly fair either. It's one thing where some of us had to add extra pitchers to the bench so our teams don't go over the start limit this first week, but otherwise, the bench limits should be adhered to, right?
  18. great minds and all - figured I needed a little minor league pitching! I'll still have a few guys to pick up over waivers too
  19. hi all! Know it's my pick, but am in an all-day meeting today, so won't be able to get to my pick until once I'm home tonight. Sorry for the delay (and thanks to those that have PMed me!)
  20. I PMed Rodelo too, in case no one else had :-)
  21. I just PM'ed Chuck, in case no one else had, letting him know he's up. IMO, this is common courtesy, not because we *have* to. That said, I'd suggest we give him 24 hours more, then he forfits if no one hears from him. As others have mentioned, there's not much additional time before the MLB start of the season. I am starting to see why we did the minor league draft in the fall last time.
  22. Hi All! I accidentally took first year player Tsuyoshi Nishioka, even though he wasn't eligible for this draft. Apologies - I missed it happening the first time, and with his Japanese experience, I forgot he was officially eligible for the prospect draft not this one. I have instead taken David DeJesus - I am in the process of emailing Brian now so he can fix my screw up...have also posted on Roadkill. Sorry for any confusion this may cause. Best, Karen
