Oh. Then I suggest we ignore Walker's lifetime .294 BA in 34 ABs against Suppan and his 1.250 OPS on the young season.

 

Maybe it was that Walker only has 1 walk in 34 ABs while Neifi has 1 in 12. Or that with the wind blowing in from left, Neifi would be more versitile if the wind decided to start blowing out later in the game when a lefty came in from the 'pen ('cause TLR would be using matchups against Neifi).

Yeah I have an idea!! Let's give the cardinals the advantage! Instead of batting Walker second who is a good contact hitter and slugger, let's bat Neifi 2nd who has a horrible OBP and hits into alot of DP!

Sorry, I just don't understand the logic that Neifi starting at second = shortstop platoon.

Or, it could be Maddux that wants Neifi playing defense on his pitching days. Baker commented that certain players will play on days that certain pitchers pitch. Maybe that is the scenario he was refering to.

Look at Walker's numbers against Suppan. Now look at Neifi's. I can understand Neifi starting over Hairston when facing Suppan... But Neifi starting over Walker when facing Suppan? Please.
