I don’t think they’re “content with just making the postseason.”………all of you have been watching this last week too - this team right now is Mid-to-Late May team right now:

- lack of moving runners & horrendoualy terrible average with RISP

- Personally, I am extremely concerned with this team regardless of WHERE they play or WHO it is against. They have the potential to win the whole damn thing, but I’m seeing an early out next week.

Yes, no argument except for the seemingly futile hope that a new day, a new series, a new city can mean winning 2 out of 3 and then take it from there.

To be fair they're also hitting a ton at-em rockets, they keep hitting the ball hard, the results will come.

My suggestion would have been for Hoyer to call MLB and Boston and tell them (not ask) them the Cubs will be heading back to Chicago after the DH. Cubs will concede game 162, accept the 6th seed and prepare for the Braves.

They absolutely will never be on the good side of this “variance” thing in the playoffs. They’re cursed. If they start hitting then the pitching staff will suck again.
