I wouldn’t have gone with Zeperjahn, but I guess Craig has to do that stuff. He has to find guys for the playoffs. He has to get them used to pressure situations. If it cost them a playoff, maybe it doesn’t matter. If he didn’t do this they would be ready for  the playoffs anyway. Maybe if he used them and they succeed that leads to playoff success???🤷 he is kind of damned if he does and damned if he don’t, when things go bad.

A day late on the prediction - Cubs bullpen comes through in a high leverage situation.  I know, it's more a blind squirrel finds a nut or a broken clock is right twice a day.  Honestly, I thought it was over after Nico helped to give the Pirates the lead.  Probably, a game they should not have won but, hey, they certainly lost a sh*t ton of games they should have won.

With Luzardo scratched from the start today, we have to have Atlanta open up this game and win this series. Hopefully a sweep. 
However, Padres and DBacks are hot right now too.

We don't really have any effective relievers beyond Civale at the moment.  I suspect CC is just going with matchups and/or throwing darts at a dartboard.  Not much else he can do.

It would be nice if the worst is over with these relievers and Cabrera can get into some low- leverage situations and contribute.  Maybe he can make the 1st round playoff roster as a middle reliever if he does well.

Padres on a 6 game winning streak.  Now only 2.5 games back of us.  How annoying.  I'll admit it would be kinda fun if we played them in the first round again.
