Honestly, at this point, I really don't care.  Bull pen can't hold a lead of less than 4 runs, it's pretty hopeless.

I want them to make the playoffs just so pca's mvp season isn't always associated with something bad

Is every member of the bullpen allergic to clean innings/games?

I'm confident Cubs will make the playoffs. I'm also confident this board will have as many playoff wins as the Cubs.

Everyone horsefeathers one of them are terrible, even the worst of teams have one effective guy.  If they or someone could manage one effective week the playoffs are done deal.

I know the bullpen is for horsefeathers but, I put this one on Craig.  After the lead off walk he should have pulled Boyd.  Zeferjahn may have not executed however, him facing, Ortiz, a crappy replacement level player is the right match up.  Most especially after Ortiz out together a good at bat vs. Boyd earlier.

Ortiz would have been pinch hit for a LH bat and Zeferjahn isn't good against lefties. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

Still would have taken my chances, even against the fearsome Jake Bauers.

Ortiz is a reverse splits guy and has an 84 wRC+ against lefties. It wasn't a bad decision. Boyd just didn’t execute.

In the end it's all a wash, had they managed to hold them to one run, the bullpen would have inevitably blown it.

I put this one on the RISP failures.  What do you want CC to do?  All the relievers suck and he knows it.  Boyd is gassing out, and he either rolls the dice with him or rolls the dice with the nightmare bullpen.  What’s the difference?  The horses just aren’t there.

But you have runners on base, the big hits have to happen.  Just have to, or we will lose.

Yeah at the time I was pissed he didn't make the change but then understood why after the fact. A 1 run lead just isn't going to hold up with whatever options we do have.

Know what else is starting to bum me out?  Sounds crazy I know.  But the PCA solo shots, because I know we need more runs than that.  How do we get base runners on ahead of him?  Hitting leadoff works against that, but Pete is the best leadoff hitter I’ve ever seen.
