Im guessing this could be their playoff pitching, if Cabrera has a good return. 

Imanaga Gausman Boyd Cabrera will likely be playoff starters.

Palencia Webb Zeferjahn Rolison Assad Peterson Holmes Hollowell and Thornton will be the bullpen.

Brown could get a bullpen spot if he returns and everything goes well for him.

I just feel that Steele without having any baseball activities all season will be limited to an X amount of pitches and innings in September and then shutdown for the year.

Just before the trade weekend, Cubs FO said Brown was playing catch as a start of rehab in their Arizona facility and has been asymptomatic so far.

Depends on how they will pitch for the rest of the season.  Maybe, Cabrera goes to the pen, instead of Holmes.  Otherwise, I agree with you.  If Cabrera can prove he's actually good, like we're hoping, having Holmes in the pen would be a big deal.

That what I was thinking,  depending on how Cabrera does with his return he'll be the 4th starter, if not, Holmes could be and Assad would probably be 3rd option if worse case happens between Cabrera and Holmes.

As for what I'd do, I'd rotate starts between the following 6 players if Cabrera comes back strong: Boyd, Gausman, Holmes, Imanaga, Peterson, Cabrera. Keep Rea around for mop up long-relief duty, put Assad in the minors since he has options.

For the last 6 in the pen, you keep Webb and Rollison because they've been nails, Palencia could be the closer or setup guy, and Zeferjahn is a good complement to Palencia, and that should effectively cover the last 3 innings of any game in the postseason. Past that, if Brown and Steele are healthy and can be effective, that's the last 2 spots. If not, keep them on the 60-day DL and figure out your best 2 out of Maton, Thornton, Ferguson, Civale, Milner, Miller and Thielbar.
