Is it just me or does that seem light? I mean Hope is awesome, but the other 2? River Ryan is 27 in AAA and has pitched 8 games this year. I’m assuming due to injury, but still.

I wish teams would freeze out the Dodgers on these type of trades. Or at the very least put a Dodger tax on the trade.

With that said, Dodgers are definitely beatable this year, even with Skubal.

Brewers or Rays definitely could have done this. Chicken shits

I would be more pissed at the Brewers than Rays. Brewers would actually have an advantage in the starting pitching in the NLCS over the Dodgers if they made that deal with Skubal.

As always, the end return is nowhere near some of the outlandish packages that get thrown around. River had TJ surgery in August of 24 and missed all of 25. He was a solid prospect but definitely not the type of young arm they were rumored to be after.

Like I said, I didn't expect the Cubs would get Skubal, but I really didn't want him to join the horsefeathers Dodgers.  I hate them from my heart.

Not gonna lie this reads like the plan is one of the Angels guys, one of Gausman/Peralta/Holmes, and a closer caliber reliever.  Which if they actually do all that....holy horsefeathers

Detmers/Peralta/Brown/Boyd/Shota/Peterson/Cabrera plus Assad/Rea plus Steele and Horton plus Taillon on the payroll..  That would be a lot of MLB SP.  Jed must be banging his head.

I hate the Dodgers but not more than the Brewers. Glad he’s not going to Milwaukee.

Miz and Skubal in the playoffs back to back would’ve been insane. 😬

That return feels...light. At least based on what we expected.

def light. The Dodgers made out like bandits. Harris should have insisted on de Paula.

I get that, but I also want teams to feel like they have a chance to win a World Series, even to include the Cubs biggest rival (currently).

No one is going to feel like they have a chance to win the World Series. Now, I don't know what Tampa Bay's offer (if they offered) was going to be, but we're about to have a boring postseason play. For the baseball fan, that's going to suck.

Yeah, I agree, and it's good for us, I guess.  We can get a rental like Holmes, Peralta.... for much less.

I believe if I am a Tigers fan, I'll be pissed off, too. If all they're going to get is a 27/28 year old and the top 25 prospect in the MLB pipeline, I bet they'd rather just keep him and try to offer him a crap ton in the offseason.

I assumed it was gonna be Hope, Sheehan, Ryan and another prospect. Flip side, could we get Sheehan?

Sucks it's the Dodgers but at least it's not the Brewers.

To be fair to Ryan, even if he had never been injured he'd still be blocked by the Dodgers having a full rotation of perennial Cy Young candidates plus Sasaki.

F*** the Dodgers.

That is because it is light.

Dodgers are the entitled child and the rest of baseball are the kind of parents who can't say no.

Them Dodgers might not be done dealing yet...

Well, that’s everyone else’s WS prospects down the shitter. But that’s what happens when you spend money on everyone you want and leave your already great farm system in tact.

I think the Dodgers were already up to 25% chance to win the WS before this. Kind of makes you feel like there's no point in even trying.

Good point.

Skubal was traded over, and he's a rental so it won't cost much. Other than Tommy Edman, I'm not sure if they traded for one player on their roster.
