Just saw the score , are they mounting a big comeback 😳

They won’t score 7 runs even if they play 20 innings.

Conforto starting to come back to his reality

At least we can all remember where we were when Conforto had that one good week.

Screw it on there. Fire Counsell. Need to shock this team. No bigger way to do it than to fire Counsell.

Counsell brings very little and he has no answers, but Tom isn’t paying him to go away until at least the end of this season

With the way the Cubs are playing, they will have nothing worthwhile to sell. Carson Kelly? Ian Happ if he waves his NTC. Webb maybe?

I would love for the Cubs to make a move similar to the Morel trade they made a few years ago.  Leverage a young guy on this team who has some potential + a top prospect, for a guy that has a chance to be an actual star.  Obviously the Morel/Parades move didn't work out, but I liked that Jed showed some courage for a change and made a big move.

Chase Delauter from the Guardians is a pretty great prospect (imo).  Strikes out less than 12% of the time, Walks over 10%, unique swing that plays at Wrigley Field.  Has a great approach.  I'm not great at mock trades but maybe something like Boyd, Suzuki and Ballesteros for DeLauter and one of their top 10-15 prospects?  Cubs give up 2 expiring contracts plus a decent hitter in Ballesteros for a guy they can plug into RF next year and who fits the high contact approach that this team seems to love.

Seeing a guy like Benge go 5/5 yesterday, and the Sox call up Montgomery today... why the horsefeathers can't the Cubs find a guy like that?

Is there a cap on the number of players that can be involved in a trade? Say a team literally gave up quantity over quality, what would be the limit?

Would you trade Delauter and a prospect for that package?

Not sure why, they're almost 10 games out of the division already and looking worse by the day.

Totally agree - with the injuries, horrible pitching and hitting, lame duck manager who rolls with the hopes that they will just hit their way out of their slump (aka “that’s just how baseball goes - it’s a long season” ho horsefeathers hum attitude), I’d say this season is looking like it will be a complete bust.

As horsefeathers as this team is, it’s fun to play the Rockies and resume “Will Kris Bryant play fewer games for the Rockies than his contract value?”. watch.

4 and a half years into his contract and he’s played 170 games. Signed for $182 million on a contract with 2 and a half years left.

it really is mind-blowing how every facet of this team fell off a cliff wile e. coyote style since may 9th.

curious to compare this 31+ day span to other lengthy futility stretches by this ballclub.

even the rockies have three guys in their bullpen that throw 98

The Cubs have had one of the softest throwing staffs since 2018. When asked about this, Carter Hawkins had no answers. But he never has. He spends his time explaining away why he and Jed still have their jobs while underachieving every year and outspending every team in the division.
