Martin is not even close to 1.62 ERA caliber but he seems legitimately very good.  Against Taillon the Sox probably ought to be considered favorites in this game?

How long has it been since the Sox were favored in a game against us without having Crochet on the mound?  Back in '22?

Damn how has Davis Martin been so good?  Here are his 8 starts this year:

5 IP, 3 ER
6 IP, 0 ER
7 IP, 2 ER
7 IP, 1 ER
6.1 IP, 1 ER
5.2 IP, 1 ER
7 IP, 0 ER
6 IP, 1 ER

Pitching deep into games and allowing 0 or 1 ER in most of his starts.

If I'm the Sox I'd trade him for a haul this year.  His value has never and will never be higher.

They are unfortunately not that far away from being a damn good team.  I thought Getz was an egg head but he actually seems competent.

Then he is due for a blow up game.

Martin's xERA is 3.90, so yeah, it's about time.

4.5 HR/FB% is absurdly low, his 87.6 LOB% is about 10% higher than most, He has still been good, just nowhere near 1.62 ERA good.

The AL Central is pretty weak right now. I can see them standing pat if they are in the division race coming out of July. They are at least putting a respectable team on the field every night which is good. I do agree with you though. Id be looking to move overperforming guys.

A huge reason why they are so good right now is that they got Teal, Meidroth, and Braden Montgomery (top 30 prospect) in that deal from the Red Sox for Crochet.  That's as good as it gets - 2 starting big leaguers and a slugging corner OF with upside.

One more deal like that but more pitching prospect heavy?  They'd be set.  Probably the best farm system at that point with a lineup full of young talent already at the MLB level.

I don't think Martin will ever have a season like this again, personally.  And I think the pitching market will be the same as it was last season.

True.. the entire AL is pretty crappy right now except those 2 giants in the AL East.

I’m not a Sox hater but I don’t see them winning 70 games.  Their schedule has been really bad and they can’t score runs without the long ball.  I’d say their bullpen has also over performed to date and they have won a ton of close games

What I find amazing is the fact that Nico is the team leader in batting average with .264 lol

Cant wait to see this team really put it all together when others like (Seiya, Bregman, Busch, among others) really start to heat up! Already 29 wins with many injuries and batting woes from some stars, so when they put it all together it should be something to see!

Sound like a Sox hater to me. I think they win 77-83 games and be in the race all year. I, too, am not a fan of theirs, but I do see a decent team there. And AlC sucks. So 83 wins is possible.

They also have some reinforcements in the high minors that could push them over the top in the ALC come the summer.

I also don't want them trading Murakami to the Dodgers, so having them in the hunt is a good thing.

Depending on the betting site. It is basically a pick em game. Sox “not exactly”‘favorite, even in this match up. But your point is spot on. Been a long time.
