Hendrickson to the Ravens, 4 years $112MM.

So buyers remorse on the Crosby trade lol.

Yup, I think there is a decently high likelihood that the failed physical was somewhat on purpose.  The Ravens knew they paid too much and that was their way out.  Similar to the Lakers failing Mark Williams last year.

Las Vegas I’m offering you a single 2!~ for the very damaged goods of Maxx Crosby, we’ll figure out a way to salvage his ruined career, thank you

Williams is out for a few weeks currently because of the reason the Lakers called off the trade

Looks like the Ravens just wanted to kick the tires, see for themselves how that knee looked.  It makes you wonder if it’s worse than was reported.

The Ravens are a savvy organization.  Raiders aren’t.  LV got played by a better org.

Or the Ravens saw Hendrickson still available and he costs only money for a slightly less talented player.

Name one guy who is a “huge” upgrade

they are all lateral moves at best second tier guys replacing second tier guys

I was being cheeky, but I still like how they addressed so many holes without breaking the bank.  No longer term deals for marginal player.

If they draft as well on defense as they did on offense last year, then we're looking at a Super Bowl contender that is built to last (as much as one can be in the NFL).

It’s the nfl longterm deals aren’t a hindrance to your future.

The Dayo and Grady Jarrett deals aren't doing us a lot of favors right now.  It doesn't seem like we gave any of those out this year.

There are pretty quick and low consequence ways that the Bears can open up more cap space. Poles has chosen not to. Dayo and Jarrett are bad deals, but they’re not really preventing the team from doing more in FA than they have.

Fair enough.  I know the cap isn't considered "real" but I'm still glad we didn't hand over big money for questionable talent.  A lot of these guys will be free agents again next year and will be looking for another payday.  Free agency should supplement strong drafting and that's what I'm hoping for this year as it is supposedly a good one for DL/LB/S, which aligns nicely with the Bears needs.

Unfortunately, Poles track record doesn’t suggest he’s capable of drafting well enough on Day 2 and 3 to avoid turning to free agency to fill out his roster. Here’s hoping he magically gets better with his 5th draft.

Ben Johnson will be in Poles ear. I’ll bet he has as much or more say than Poles.

Oh for sure. Hopefully he has an eye for defensive talent.

I trust DA+quality assistants over the awful coaching staff that Flus hired. Can’t say for sure though. Off to a bad start with Dayo/Jarrett and Turner.

That's unfortunately correct, although he did ok in his first draft getting Brisker and Kylerman.  Hopefully having a better coaching staff puts us on a better trajectory.

Brisker didn’t even receive an extension. Hindsight or not George Pickens, Alec Pierce and Trea McBride were passed on. He traded pick 32 for Claypool instead. One home run pick outside of the top 10 is too much to ask for?

The only positive spin here is if Claypool is worth half a horsefeathers they might’ve finished 4-13 and no Carolina trade.

Except that was an option BEFORE the trade for Crosby was agreed to.

Jesus he's a good player who teams are hesitant to sign because he's had like 8 concussions, not because he can't play.

Raiders still want 2 first for Maxx. The moment the Ravens killed the Crosby trade, was the moment the "two FRP for Crosby" dream trade died for the Raider. I think the Raiders will be lucky to get one FRP for Crosby.

I think they will for sure get a first round pick. Maybe a 1st this year and a 3 next. My guess is pretty much everyone knows the Ravens were looking for a way out with Hendrickson still there and the physical isn’t that bad. Had the Bears been given the picks they should have been given for losing Cunningham this would have been an easy choice for me. Go get Crosby. Now I am not too sure.

Byard to the pats for 1/9. Would have liked him back for that no doubt

I’m still upset about that.  Apparently even Ryan said he’s not the primary decision maker. The NFL made the decision based on what’s written on a piece of paper rather than the actual job descriptions.
