He wouldn’t need to be ”the guy” with the Mets either.

No, but it's New York; he'd be subject to the same scrutiny as if he were "the guy" in just about any other market, especially if they were paying him what the reported offer is.

That is probably true. Basically no matter who you are you are subject to a lot of expectations ans criticism in NY.

Mets have Soto. How does Tucker have to be “the guy” with the Mets?

I guess you're unfamiliar with NY media. It's still to this day a different level. A $50m dollar deal essentially replacing Pete Alonso is a different level of microscope. In LA he's joining the Beatles.

Cowles had a disaster of a 2025. but in terms of injury reserves I'd much rather have a guy that I liked a good bit at this time last year like Cowles as opposed to Scott Kingery who hasn't had anything good go his way since the pandemic.

60 AAV 😂 . I know the deferrals will come out at some point that will bring the value down , but still hilarious .

4 years, $240 million with opt out after 2027.  A super crazy deal.

Opt outs after years 2 and 3 , per Passan

Wow, that's even crazier.  I guess the Dodgers want him for at least 2 years to do a 4 peat.

He'd be a fool to opt out , he'll still be somewhat young enough for another decent contract at 32 while collecting all the deferral from the Dodgers.

I wonder how much extra luxury tax they have to pay, because of the Tucker signing.
