Caleb has grown into one tendency that is driving me crazy. He just refuses to run and take the yards they're giving him. He'll dance around for 10 seconds hoping a WR gets open before he even considers taking off and it just doesn't make sense given his wheels.

He doesn't seem to have any instinct for when he should stand tough in the pocket vs roll out vs take off. This feels like something that will either come by itself naturally with reps or can be easily coached. Not worried.

I agree with whoever said he was over-correcting by trying not to run even when the run was the best option.

What is your take on the high volume of takeaways? Good coaching, luck that will regress, a little of both?

I think today we actually saw a significant impressive defensive effort vs an admittedly bad QB. Pressure was there, Sweat had a good game, Brisker was awesome on blitzes and the coverage, for the most part, was good.

A couple bad lapses on those two good drives the Saints had, but overall I’m starting to believe the ball hawking is a real thing and not just luck.

I also don’t super mind some of the penalties on defense because it’s from dudes trying real hard and being mean, which you need on defense

This is meatbally of me but I love seeing this stuff. What a contrast to Eberflus.

I LOVE that.  Give me more meatball. 😋

Save for some bad officiating the Bears blew out the Commanders, Cowboys are kicking their asses today.  Up 41-22, going in for another TD, thought the Commanders were supposed to be good.

The most reliable team in the NFL is the Jets.

Bears open as 6.5 point dogs to the Ravens next week. Completely fair line but can’t remember ever seeing a 4-2 team almost a TD underdog to a 1-5 team.

Assuming the line moves based on if Lamar plays or doesn’t

Lamar Jackson will be back

Next week will be a huge gut check for the defense. Lamar coming back, at home… I fully expect him to drop some major points on us.

Next week is a huge test for Caleb, honestly. Can he keep up? Can’t have the game he had today and expect to win. Against even a battered Ravens team we’ll get blown out if Caleb repeats this game.

I figured 30 would be it, and it was down to whether NY could drive for the win.  Never thought there was even more craziness to come.

Like I said, completely fair line, was just commenting on how unusual it is to see a 4-2 team a TD underdog to a 1-5 team.

They are still +145 to win their division. That is crazy for a 1-5 team.

Remember when we used to track touchdown less halves under Nagy/Pace?  So far the Bears have scored a TD in 10 of 12 halves this year.  The 2 they didnt score a TD they scored 9 (1st half vs. LV) and 6 points (2nd half vs. NO).

Even when they don't score a TD they are avoiding complete offensive duds.

I had the Broncos in my survivor pool.  And after the (controversial) Denver No Kings altercation with the bigoted Giants fan...I had a lot of incentive to root for the Broncos this week.  Glorious.

So Giants of them to go and get their own TD and then miss the extra point, setting up the game winning field goal. It would have been tied and going to overtime if they make their own extra point. Crazy game.

What would the spread be if Rush was named the starter?. 13 points in Rush’s 2 starts, 131 points in Lamar’s 4 starts. I wish we had a quarterback that could swing the point spread by 14+ points.

Every win he's been like this...fired up.  Ben Johnson has some red ass in him and I like it.

This is true, but the other way to look at it is they've had so many would-be TD's turned into field goals by penalties and muffed snaps.
