Well I wont get to watch either game because apparently MLB hates ratings and puts the games in the middle of the week in the middle of the day when 90% of the country is at work.

They cater to east and west coast markets. Boston/Yankees usually gets a better time, as does any Dodgers game.

So with Assad throwing over 70 pitches does that mean he doesn’t make the wild card series roster? He won’t be available on Tuesday and probably Wednesday. If he isn’t on the roster I don’t see how they have 13 pitchers Nit even sure about 12, without him.

So what is the Cubs lineup going to be tomorrow then?

I'm torn on the Mets/Reds making the playoffs. On the one hand, the Mets collapsing epically is pretty amazing, but on the other hand Marty Brennaman is still alive and I want him to suffer. Plus I think the Reds could also be a really tough out in a short series.

My hatred of the Mets has faded a lot over the years, but I am currently watching their game for the potential schadenfreude.

Between tv, internet, people in the office, people in my home, people texting me during the game, it's damn near impossible.

Dodgers should have no issues with the Reds, imo.

I’d wager everyone gets the day off.

Tuesday. Is Ballesteros going to be the DH or?

Should, the Cincy's offense is meh, but their front end pitching can cause anyone an issue.

Unrelated, watching the Mets always makes me think it's a shame that their broadcast team is wasted on that team. Of course Darling and Hernandez being former Mets is part of the formula, but they are really good.

Green and Abbott should scare any lineup.  But managers are so scared to go third time through the lineup - the Reds pen sucks so it's on Francona.

Assuming Seiya playing the right field, it's either Tucker or Mo.  Tucker didn't look good.  He was like 1 for 11.  I would take Mo, but I think Tucker is going to be the DH.

Seiya hit 5 HR's in four games.  He's going to play either way, DH or RF.

And yet the 89 win Padres beat the 101 win Mets and the 111 win Dodgers in series in 2022 because baseball.

Yeah, the schedule isn’t surprising at all. If he’s saying that MLB should have multiple prime time games, that’s different. But LA (or SD had they won the division) were always going to get the late slot and once the Yankees won their division, that’s an easy call to put them in prime time east coast.

I actually really like the Reds chances in the wildcard round.  I'm actually planning to throw a little money at them.

Hunter Greene is as good as anyone.  Win his start and then you just need to squeak out one more.  I'd be surprised if they make it past the NLDS, and shocked if they take down any of the other teams in a 7 game series, but they're scary in the wildcard round IMO.

Only issue with a 2 PM first pitch is the shadows at home plate late in the game. Getting an early lead will be key for the Cubs. Can't make this to be a bullpen game...

I don't love the playoff scheduling, but I understand why it was done that way.  As a fan, I would prefer multiple games overlapping in prime time, but that would splinter the viewers.  It is just the unfortunate reality that any time the Yankees and Dodgers are playing, everyone else is going to take a back seat in scheduling.  I hope one or both of those series are done in 2 games so the Cubs can play in the evening if they go to a 3rd game.

Boy, if the Cubs hitters are finally coming out of their 3 month hibernation it could be fun.  Padres will score some runs but, a hitting Cubs' team will score a sh*t ton more.

There's definitely no point in carrying 13 pitchers.  12 at most i think.  Assad should be off the roster and I can't see them letting Wicks pitch unless there's an injury.

Kind of odd they let him throw pitches.  That means his spot in the rotation is Friday basically.  If there's an injury or 2 it leaves them a bit vulnerable.  I would have went long with Wicks and pulled Assad after 40 pitches., essentially reverse their workload.

Their lineup is, for the most part, awful, don't think they be able to score enough.

Basically what I said and thought. Assad for 40-50 pitches and then let Wicks finish. Guess they thought different. I can’t see Assad on the WC roster.

When the game is on ABC and blacked out on MLBTV? Literally impossible

You can watch blacked out playoff games 90 minutes after the final out. Even if you couldn’t, PVR exists
