Hey, I'm frustrated to, thus far, it's been a total horsefeathers show.  I'm still not ready to write off Loveland, you can, but, I think he's a tad better than you think.  And UMFan is correct Loveland was better overall to Warren in college, look at the numbers.

I'm actually more concerned its Williams, not Loveland thats the issue. But when someone floats "it was a toss up, 60-40", thats not at all a toss up. Loveland was hurt (?) and Warren was ready. duh, poles, duh

If the Bears continue to play like this, we will find out just how badly they want to win like they say they do. Warren and Poles would cost, what $50-100 million to be let go? But if they win 3-4 games, this has to be done.

I don’t think the Bears did a “true up” of Poles to match BJ, only to abandon that after one bad season.  Warren though?  I have no idea about him.

Where did I say it was a toss up? I was responding to the point that Warren was a consensus no doubt higher regarded TE prospect and that’s simply not true. Yes Loveland was injured but are you drafting for the first half of the 2025 season or for the next 6-8 years? Cmon man

2025 season. you have a young qb who needs all the support he can get.

He delayed the Arlington Heights move costing the Bears hundreds of millions of dollars in inflation-related construction costs and extended Poles. What has he done to help the team?

The only counter I can buy to that is it would take a sea change of thought to get Bear fans accepting a move off the lake, let alone out of Chicago. Chicagoans have always said Chicago is Chicago, the rest (including suburbs like Blue Island) are greater Illinois. I can see that plight.

That being said, it would be far cheaper to just rip the band-aid off and do it already. Build a winning team, and nobody cares.

The thing that would absolutely give the young QB all the support he can get is a real running attack. I dont think the comparison is Loveland v Warren. Its why wasn't more done to improve the run game?

They are doing it, but that’s after already buying property in Arlington Heights and then bringing in Warren to as leverage or a real play, tried to keep the Bears in the city. But that added years to the timeline.

Bears actually ran the ball well today, 5 ypc, it was that horsefeathers Swift fumbling the ball that was a kick to the balls.  I've no doubt they were on their way to scoring another TD before that dipshit' fumble.

They were beaten to the punch at least once in the draft.  That happens but I don’t know why there doesn’t seem to have been a plan B.

you give your young qb EVERY opportunity to succeed, not draft a TE that might be good in 6-8 years, esp if they are recovering from injury, that early in the draft

He clearly did not mean it would take Loveland 6-8 years to become good.

I'm done with Swift and I hope Ben Johnson is as well, time to give Monangai a chance.

If only they hadn't given Montgomery to Detroit for nothing

Hes a Michigan grad, don’t be so sure

besides, my point remains. You have a young qb, you don’t draft projects top 10, or hurt players, you draft consensus immediate impact players

Monty isn’t even Detroits best RB, but he would instantly be the best the Bears have. Detroit is doing this far better than the folks in Forest Lake. draft a damn stud rb already

This is my position at the end of the day.  Warren was the right pick there.  I’m so sick of going HUH? at a first round Bears pick.  It happens way too often.

Falcons signed Romo (kicker) this week and he’s 5-5 including a 54-yarder which would have been good from further.

He was actually on the Bears’ practice squad in 2023, and has bounced around the league and the XFL.  Point being, there’s likely an upgrade at kicker to be had at any time for the Bears.

Second consecutive week that kickers signed the week of have played the hero on SNF.

Someone posted a few pages back that 3 of the Bears injured players on defense are out for the season.  Is that true or just speculation?

Speculation. But it sure did seem that the team rushed back Edwards and Jaylon.

I did not watch a minute of the game. I expect the team will be last in the division, likely bottom 5 in the league. The schedule is crazy, the division is impossible for a rookie HC and a 2nd year QB learning a new, supposedly most complex ever offense. It's an impossible ask, we really should not expect them to get many wins this year. They will probably get a couple because football is kooky and random horsefeathers happens a lot.

Poles has been unspeakably bad. Always seeking the highest ceiling based on athletic traits, summarily dismissing merely 'solid' players, trading future picks as if hes only in need of missing pieces, etc. His approach to building the roster has been a disaster, and the same mistakes are being made every year. He's seemingly overly prideful and egotistical. Id like to know what Johnson really thinks of him, what he thought of the roster going in, where it stood, and how he felt about FA and the draft and where the roster stood at the end of camp. I cant imagine he was thrilled.

If our defense is already that decimated then Johnson is going to be way over his head. We were hoping Allen could coax a competitive defense out of those guys but without Johnson and TJ I dont think any coach would have a chance with the depth behind them. Theyre going to have a lot of ugly ass games and we just have to hope Caleb and the offense start cooking at some point.

If they dont, they might lose all 17.

Speculation by me, groin and hamstring injuries, it's the Bears, I think there's a very good chance they're done.

At this point I'd take winning a quarter or maybe, even a half of a quarter.
