Meanwhile, the Cowboys kicker hits a 64 yard field goal that would have easily been good from 70.

Maybe they’ll be win and be so high on their victory that they’ll only score 40 next week

Odeyingbo was not the worst thing about the Bears defense today, he made penetration on several occasions almost getting to Goff while being held.

Well, for me, here I'm again with the same nonsense - don't care about the defense or outcome of the game just want to see marked improvement from the QB and the offense.  This has been theme for at least 8 seasons and it's getting really tiresome.  I wanted Mitch and Justin to succeed but, they've mental hurdles they'll never overcome, I really hope it's not same story with Caleb.  I believe in Caleb and I do not believe he has the mental limitations of Mitch and Justin.  I figure he's got 6-7 games to clear up mistakes and start producing, don't think Ben will go the whole season watching the same mistakes.  He'll bench Caleb and turn to Tyson.

I don’t think 21 points, 19/30, 207 2/1 and 4 sacks is good enough, but it’s better than awful. The defense is going to get throttled with regularity. Caleb should have opportunities for garbage time stats and he should have had more.

You're also missing more than 60 yards in drops and constantly being set back by penalties.

Yeah, this wasn't a case of Caleb being inaccurate, it was receivers dropping balls that hit them in the hands.  It's more like 23-30, 270, 2/1.

Drops will happen though.  I get those were bad.  I don’t think we just expect perfection and calculate stats as if receiving was 100% as a base expectation.

Something is off with this teams presnap. It may not be his fault. But he’s gotta be part of the solution and he has not been yet

a good nfl qb has to at least threaten to win one quarter, or make it a 3 possession game at some point.

he’s not at fault for the loss and he wasn’t terrible so that’s nice

but by no means was that effort good enough even in the “I know and accept the defense sucks and we will lose” mindset

Detroit had a couple of big drops/misses too and yet still scoured 52

And they had the advantage of playing a Bears defense that let WR's get open by 20+ yards.  Even Caleb would have completed those easy TD throws.

I don't understand what the horsefeathers is going on, last year it was OL dropping like flies.  This year it's any possibly remotely effective defensive player gone - Terrell Smith, Austin Booker, Jaylon Johnson and TJ Edwards - are all done for the season.

It's a groin injury, it's the Bears, I don't think it a stretch to assume he's done for the season.  When, in the last 20 or so years have the Bears ever had a injured player successfully heal and come back in season?  I'm sure it's happened, I think.

All offseason we wondered when the Bears were gonna improve their edge/pass rush. Another game where the Bears get very little pressure. Poles is starting to look like such an utter disaster. I’d take Ryan Pace back at this point, at least he knew to go out and get talent to fill holes even if he completely sabotaged our future to get it

They had 3 glaring weaknesses in DE/OL/RB they chose to do the absolute minimum on 2 of the 3.

Ironically, as I said above, I don't think Odeyingbo was that bad today, he got penetration and was held quite a bit.

Yeah, the problem is they don't have anyone that teams feel the need to double team to make everything easier on everyone else.  Sweat is invisible too much to be an elite pass rusher.

Through 2 games Caleb is on pace for 3,544 passing yards.   Again, I think his game was fine today, just sucks that he's already off the pace.
