They need a guy that can start postseason games. Verlander can do that.

Verlander is a name, nothing more. He's not good.

I kind of feel like they feel they owe it to Jamo to prove he's healthy and pitch in the playoffs. It terrifies me but with him and Assad, maybe they work Soroka in and push Horton to the pen, their rotation is kind of full. They might feel all but Gore and Ryan are lateral moves or something. They possibly feel the holes are overstated.

I think we have to accept the very real possibility that Jed is done, excuse #1 will be something along the lines of with Jameson and Javier coming back we felt it wasn't necessary to be aggressive.

Look on the bright Cubs kept all of their top prospects and we'll get to watch Cassie strike out for 3+ months after Jed doesn't sign Tucker.

Castro any good? I never heard the name outside of here. Don’t keep up as much with the AL.

He's a solid role player, makes the bench better. He cannot, however, strike anyone out.

Solid against righties, mashes lefties, lots of positional versatility. Exactly what we needed in a bat. I wanted him over Suarez.

Do it all guy who isn't crap at the plate and can give half the position players a breather when needed.

He's not a starter, but he's an immediate upgrade over Berti by a country mile.

I miss the days when Theo Epstein grabbed Aroldis Chapman at the deadline and the Cubs steamrolled the NL to win the World Series.

He was an All Star last year. Not a bad hitter, some pop. But a big thing is he can play everywhere and is a nice safety net at third if Shaw slumps again.

"All-Star" that played 158 games and had a 1.6 bWAR lol

Not dogging on the move, just funny that he made the ASG

I guess he's what Vidal Brujan would be if Vidal Brujan wasn't terrible.
