Houser is on my radar as a potential sneaky good trade pickup.  He's likely due for a regression, but teams aren't barreling him up the way they did in years past and his walks have dropped.  I don't think he'd start in a playoff series for this team, but he'd be a good target as a guy who could give Horton/Boyd a breather down the stretch and relegate Rea to long relief.

Tucker' been in a slump for the better part of July, I have to think he's going to come out of it soon.  Might as well start tonight.

Watch Tauchman go completely off this series because the universe is so horsefeathers annoying

I suggested that the Cubs trade for both of them using a couple of low-end prospects.  Hauser helps us get to the playoffs and Tauchman gives us a solid bench bat and some OF relief during the dog days of summer.  A real no-brainer that doesn't interfere with any of our other trade plans, improves the team, and costs almost nothing.

I like Tauchman but he's redundant on this team.  They need a RH hitter who can play the OF to spell PCA (and maybe Happ sometimes).

This would be a good weekend for the struggling bats to get themselves going and then use that momentum heading into Milwaukee.  Especially Happ, Tucker, and Zuki

Robert Jr not in the lineup after an off day and a lefty pitching . Maybe he is injured , but makes you wonder if he is getting dealt . He has been hitting well lately btw .

That is strange. My guess is a deal is coming soon.

They need a bat off the bench who can get on base and someone who can sub for all 3 OF positions.  As for needing a RH hitter, his splits for his whole career are better against lefties than righties: .267/.359/.395 against lefties and .241/.345/.384 against righties.

That sucks for the Sox. I am sure they want to trade him.

Brujan starting at 3B. Why?

Housers splits . Brujan isn’t likely to do anything  on offense anyway , so i probably would have kept Shaw in fir defense , but whatever .

To be a slave to Houser' splits with Brujan is nonsense, I could see if the guy you're platooning with is a quality bat from the left side.  Splits become immaterial when that left handed bat is completely woeful, you lose nothing by starting Shaw.
