The lack if injuries certainly plays a part.

I don’t understand the April Cubs bit you keep trotting out. The Cubs are averaging 4.97 runs per game since May 1.

it was a routine fly ball that PCA called Happ off of then just didn't catch

Which is a full run less then April, and not enough to overcome an at best average rotation as currently constructed, and the Sox offense has been playing like the April cubs since the all star breaks.
