Phenomenal for Kelly to hit for the 🚲

think he’s gonna have a good year.

I think Derek Lee (would have) hit for the cycle once like 15-20 years ago but the Cubs were killing the other team and he stopped at first when he could’ve had a double.

Kelly had 2 career triples before this game.  He really went for it haha.

I think it was Todd Walker in Houston who was a double away from a cycle and pulled a ball just foul down the right field line only to hit another homer on the next pitch.

Only Cub who didn't have a good time today was Happ.  Zero hits today, ump did him dirty.

But a lead-off walk!

Yep I remember that. Thought he had the double but had to “settle” for a HR.

Have we handed Tucker a blank check yet? It’s almost like super stars help make you better

is Tucker the best player in the NL Central?  I say yes,.  It's a shame I have little faith in the Cubs even attempting to re-sign him.

Carson Kelly gets the triple for the cycle. So cool.

Backup catchers do it all of the time. (I think)

He doesn't want to DH it in his head, i bet he gets traded

Suzuki off to a slow start brings you to this conclusion? He did fine at DH last year. I don’t know, maybe give him 70 AB before coming to the conclusion his head is messed up because he is being asked to DH, and because of that he is going to be traded.

He hit better last year as a DH then not. It's a super silly conclusion to make 7 games into a season.

Shaw was horrendous in Japan, but in America he's hitting .222/.333/.444 with even walks and Ks.  He started looking better straight away on Thursday too.  I wonder if the natural break that the Japan series forced helped give him that rookie reset a lot of guys don't normally get until much later.

Getting a Save for pitching the last 3 innings is silly.

Up 15.

Yeah I kind of agree.  I'm fine with the save for the last 3 innings thing, but there has to be some sort of limitation, like you only get a save if you pitch the last 3 innings and the lead is 6 or less when you enter or something.  The idea that Rea could have given up 14 runs and still gotten the save is hilarious.

Yeah it was probably a good thing for him.  He got a taste for the real thing, got to face 2 elite starters, then was able to take a breath and go back to the Cactus League to work on whatever before jumping back into the real thing.

I think its more rookie adjustments. I like how Shaw has been playing..hes gonna make mistakes but they are gonna pay off in the long run. Hes gonna be a cornerstone piece for us for a long time. Ive got a lot of faith in him and PCA.
