I wanted a TE and was leaning Warren but was going to be good with whichever of the two Johnson liked better. There was no way they were running it back with the same set of primary weapons as last year.

Dude had almost 600 yards and 5 TDs for a Michigan team that didn't know how to throw a forward pass last year.  Very dynamic receiver for a TE.  Blocking is meh but he could be an elite receiving TE.

Did we really need 3 minutes of these 2 telling us when they would announce the games being played 3 and a half months before the season will start?

NFL offseason television programming has nothing to do with need.

Why this guy over Warren?

Warren and Kmet are comparable in terms of what they bring to the table, but Loveland is more of a dynamic receiver who can complement Kmet rather than be his replacement.

Don’t hate it, but almost would have preferred a trade down (if one was possible). This does say a lot about Ben Johnson’s priorities and what he wants from the offense. I’m sure Johnson will love having him.

still want some OL and DL though obviously

You have to go back suuuuper far to find a worse year.

2022. 0 QBs in top 19

My memory of NFL drafts is basically nonexistent

What was the last draft with just 1 QB taken in the first 17 picks?

The draft that Pickett was picked like #25 by the Steelers way back in 2022. The only QB taken in first round

Ben Johnson definitely has a vision of what he wants his offense to do. Clearly Bears went ceiling over floor with this pick. Hopefully he turns into the Bears version of La Porta.
