This is more week 3 nonsense, but I peeked at the schedule this week. I'm happy to see a better split of games at noon and 3pm instead of 10-3, but why have two games on Monday that compete at the same time? That seems rather strange.

Also, looking at the names of the stadiums on the schedule for week 3, I would fail a test to name where these stadiums are. Lucas Oil and Allegient and possibly SoFi are the only ones I think I'd get right.

The Red Rocket is in. I repeat, the Red Rocket is in.

Very on brand for this franchise, don't bench Bryce Young when he sucked ass and we didn't have our own #1 pick but bench him when the most likely scenario is that they continue to suck, just not enough to get the #1 pick.

God, Bryce might have negative yards with the Bears.

Looks like Mayfield and Darnold weren't the problems

Funny (not funny) story: The two local games here yesterday were those 2 starring and winning in separate games, then the Sunday Night game was the guy we passed over for Bryce, who is already elite, versus the guy we traded away to get him (admittedly, that hasn't worked out that well yet). It's like my favorite team's incompetence is a gift and every team gets their chance to benefit from it.

I wonder how this effects the Bears chance of getting the top pick in round 2.

I was really counting on Young being the gift that keeps on giving.

Philthy Eagles blow it in tremendous fashion. Bad coaching is an epidemic. Hilarious that Andy Reid can’t stop winning super bowls and the Eagles have a coach that can’t handle clock management to save his life

They would have won the game if he accepted the intentional offside and then run Saquon three times. He got too cute.

How so? By declining it, they picked up the 1st down on the next play which forced Atl to burn their 1st timeout before the 1st down play. Had they run it 3 times, Atl gets the ball back with just under a minute left. If they accept it, Atl wouldn't have had to use a timeout until after the 1st down play and could have gotten the ball back with 90-100 seconds left. Unless I'm missing something.

The other thing was they probably should have just run the ball on 3rd down and gone for it on 4th. If you convert, game is over. If you don't, Atl gets the ball under a minute left needing 50 yards for a FG attempt. Teams tend to get more conservative once they're in FG range down 3 so it's unlikely you give up a TD there. So worst case scenario, you likely go to OT.

I went to bed, figured the Eagles would win it.  My mistake, although in my defense I'm dead tired crate training a puppy.

The Panthers coach pretty much admitted the owner told him to start Dalton. Tepper is one of the worst.

What did he say? He declined comment on whether Tepper was involved. Schefter (I know, but still) reported that Canales and the front office made the call, not Tepper.

I'm inclined to believe this was a coach/FO decision; Bryce was playing such pathetic football (he faced the lowest pressure rate of any QB in week 2 and still threw for 84 yards) they were going to lose the locker room if they kept running him out there. And while Tepper is a chode, he seems to be making more of an effort to stay in the background, which he should have done 3 disastrous decisions ago, but whatever.

From a fan perspective it's dumb that they're probably going to play themselves out of the #1 pick through Dalton's competence, but I'm not the guys busting my ass running routes with no reasonable hope of getting an accurate pass from the quarterback.
