Jesus, even Bagent only gets 1 series? This is the single most pointless game. This only thing this accomplishes is a chance to get people to take unnecessary hits and injuries.

I’m guessing people haven’t watched the HOF games in previous years. There is absolutely 0 value to this game unless you really really care about long shot 53rd man prospects. It’s significantly more pointless than even the 4th preseason game (back when there was 4 preseason games).

The legend of Rypien begins. I expect the radio lines to go crazy tomorrow.

Bob in Burbank: " Dat Rypien has a lot of heart, he should start week 1 and let Caleb learn from him"

I kind of want the Bears to get blown out so I can laugh at callers on the Score freaking out tomorrow.

No worries, there will be plenty of QB nonsense to take in.

Even though its quite probably meaningless, I like what I saw of Collin Johnson, would like to see him get more reps in the next few games.

That was shockingly positive by WYTS standards

This got the gold for me:

Jay Cutler was too lazy to go to January 6th.

Lately, been reading a plethora of negativity and worries about the OL - the expected/inevitable Jenkins' and Davis' injuries, along with Wright missing practice - I'm concerned as well.  But, I know the regular season is month+ away and I'm certain Williams is going to help the OL by making decisions and getting rid of the ball.  No more hoppity-hoppity-hop holding the ball deer-in-the-headlights or, at least, not as often.

Fields made the OL appear worse, but they were not good at pass blocking. It could be a combination of many things, down and distance, etc., but they will have to be much better in pass protection than they have been in the past few seasons if the Bears are going to have a good season.

I've definitely been concerned with what I've read about Jenkins and Wright. I already don't expect much from Davis. Wright being a JAG would be a pretty big setback for Caleb's progress.

We're kind of at the point where just about the entirety of the 2025 draft needs to be spent on the OL/DL. They're pretty set up everywhere else for the long term.

I think that with regards to the interior OL, it's an intentional team building decision and it's not my absolute favorite but it's fine.

You can't prioritize everything, you literally have to have some positions you'd rather spend less draft capital and cap space on.   I think iOL could be a little higher on our priorities list (we sure do love our mid-round special teams picks) but not a lot.  I'm not giving back our WR room or our secondary or even the promising parts of our DL to get better at center.

Meanwhile, eberflus hints that we may not get to see Williams this week either, depending on offensive line health.  That may be the smart decision but it whomps

If Eberflus is so terrified of his backups getting Williams killed that he wont even play him, we may already be screwed and should adjust our season expectations downward.

Well, if Kiran had been healthy he'd probably be playing

Hard Knocks thoughts? Decent episode. Seems like the team likes each other.  They didn’t do a ton of spotlighting fringe roster guys. Just the Canadian dude who got hurt and won’t be a factor again, and the 3rd and 4th string QBs a little bit.  Those fringe player spotlights have been some of my favorite parts of past seasons.
