Cubs' offense of late has been a lot like this.

Fail Ian Happ GIF by MLB

The bullpen has been a lot like this.

Pitching Chicago Cubs GIF

And we fans have been like this far too often late in the game with a lead.

Video gif. A Chicago Cubs fan holds his palms together in prayer as he looks up toward the sky and whispers to himself.

Jameson is on the mound, and hopefully the pixie dust doesn't wear off.

Steele gets the start on Monday.  Brown should be headed to the pen.  If Hendricks gets back then one of Assad/Wesneski is added to the pen also.  Good news is Wicks has been cleared to play catch so both could be there eventually if all goes well.  Smyly is recovering also.

I don't expect everyone on the staff healthy all at once but a couple of solid arms added in the pen will help a lot.

Fangraphs has PCA with a .292 BA and .280 OBP.  Can anyone clue me in on how this is possible?

Also, can someone send Mervis some edibles?

Batting average his H/AB.

OBP is (H+BB+HBP) / (AB+BB+HBP+SF)

PCA has no walks or HBP this year but has a SF, so the formulas simplify for him to BA = H/AB and OBP = H/(AB+SF). In his case, AB+SF > AB and the numerator is the same in both formulas.

I just noticed in the upcoming Padres series we draw Darvish-Musgrove-Cease again.  And of course Freddy Peralta in the finale of this series tomorrow.

Please score some runs today so we can get some semblance of offense on this homestand?

Unless I’m counting wrong, I think it’s Imanaga vs Darvish on Monday which is pretty cool.

But yeah even though he did ok against those guys in SD that’s not a great draw for a struggling offense

I would like the Cubs to play "eff the bullpen" today and make the MIL use position player(s) to finish the game.

I'll go ahead and say it: They should do that tomorrow too.

If I'm making the decisions for "the Vaunteds", every time I get a man on first with second base open, I steal. I do this until the Cubs throw a runner out.

This better now be one of those "great first inning and then the offense shuts down" games

Lol. ‘How can I make six of the first seven guys reaching base negative’
