It’s official. Mongo, Hester, and Peppers are headed to Canton. Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that the Bears are claiming Peppers now? Does anyone not associated with the Bears think of any team other than the Panthers when they hear his name?

Glad to see two former Packers make it into the HoF! 😁

Don’t get too lippy, one of them denounced playing in gb upon retiring and the other is bound too

Not certain what you’re referring to with “lipped” comment, and I don’t know why Peppers would denounce playing in GB.  But my comment was just a little bit of fun.  Whatever. Hester definitely was the best Punt Returner the NFL has seen, so well deserved for a position not often thought of for the Hall.

This is setting up Hard Knocks with the Chicago Bears 2024 quite nicely.

The Bears really could have control of the league. LOL.

Could be forced to do Hard Knocks. With 3 former Bears elected to the Hall, they are the likeliest team to play in the HOF game. They obviously have the #1 pick and don't seem likely to trade it. Also have another top 10 pick. And last night, with the OROY and DROY being named both from the Texans, the year after both ROYs coming from the Jets, the Bears are the only team that has 2 top 10 picks like those 2 teams did when they selected those top rookies. Not to mention, they have a QB that will likely be popular on the trade market either leading up to or right after the draft. And if Kirk Cousins is back in Minnesota, Fields would be the premier QB to change markets.

Very happy for both Hester and Mongo.  Beyond all the memories of Mongo playing, that time he was in the booth at Wrigley and called out Angel Hernandez on the mic was insanity......and totally Mongo.

That entire game was insane.  Almost certainly the craziest game I have ever attended.

Hoge also didn’t like Manziel and said that last year’s best QB was Stroud. Only saw three games last year and the year before, but said “one thing that’s clear, Caleb Williams is not special.”

That's fine Merrill. But we do know Justin Fields isn't special so let's roll the dice

He’s been right on a few QBs, but said that Fields has had too much change around him to know how good he is. Well, we’ve seen all of Fields’ games and as Urlacher said, “if you’re through year three and you don’t know if he’s the guy, he’s not the guy.”

Tomlin reportedly interested in trading for Fields

Quote

On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Steelers will be adding some type of veteran quarterback this offseason "whether that's Ryan Tannehill, whether that's Russell Wilson, whether that's Justin Fields." Schefter added while on "The Pat McAfee Show" that something to keep in mind in the coming weeks is "Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Justin Fields." A quarterback decision is something Pittsburgh will have to make soon, he said.

As much as I'd love to see them trade #20 for Justin, I'd be happy with #51 and a conditional 2025 pick depending on games played and performance.

This is kind of a pet peeve of mine.  The headline is wrong.  There was no report that Tomlin was interested in trading fields.  The report was that Tomlin had liked Fields in the past, and therefore Schefter was speculating that he might be interested in trading for him.  He may or may not be interested in trading for him, but that wasn't the report.

Reporters are pretty specific in how they word these things.

Headline writers are pretty specific, too. They just have different goals.
