Those Morel for Alonso rumors are disgusting. Hope Hoyer isn't stupid enough to do that

What's more disgusting is Met fans acting like Morel would be a 2nd piece in a deal behind a guy like Horton. I've never seen a fan base  drastically overrate a player the way Met fans value Alonso.

Yeah 121 wrc+ for alonso to 119 wrc+ for Morel. Plus Morel is cheap and under team control for a few seasons. Alonso is trending the wrong way and still wants big money

I want Yamamoto so bad, sign him and another arm and then you can deal from the pitching surplus to trade for Soto

Yamamoto, Ohtani and Soto would be a hell of an offseason lol

Be worth offering him a 2 year deal, maybe a 3rd option to rehab and be ready for 2025.

Wonder if Counsell will try and get him in.

I want them to go after Woodruff. Pay him to rehab, get him for 2025.

He'd probably want a 1-yr for 2025, so 2 yrs total, which would be fine.

Lots of teams will be interested, wonder what he'd command for the 2025 year.  Maybe he'll just want 1 yr now, and go to FA and get another 1 yr.  Who knows.

if Mike trout is available count me in on trading everything for him.

I love Trout. His back injury is really a serious deal. I'd be pretty hesitant to sell the farm for a player who has the degenerative issue he has.

His games played over the last 4 years

2022=82

2021= 119

2020= 36 (Covid year)

2019= 53

At this point I think you consider yourself lucky if you even get him for 100 games a year.

A little addendum on Andy Green: He was not fired. He was hired by the Mets in the front office. The Cubs had granted permission for him to interview and take the job.

I hope Mike Trout is available because one of the greatest players in the history of this sport shouldn’t be playing out his career at such a basket case. But as the above posters have said, I don’t know if I go near him with that injury history. It will only get worse as he ages.

Bob Nightengale has the Dodgers going after Dylan Cease.  He's pretty plugged into the White Sox, so while normally you look at what Bob says and think "opposite" there's probably something here.

I don't think it says anything about Ohtani or anyone else though.  The Dodgers need multiple veteran SPs.
