best roster in the NFL

Bold statement to say that a 3-3 team has the best roster in the NFL.

Jordan Love in 2023 (so far)

First 7 games this season

11 TDs, 8 Ints

135 comp / 234 Att - 58% completion

1492 yards passing

QB rating over 100 - 2 times

Packers record - 2 Wins, 5 Losses

Last 7 games this season

14 TDs, 3 Ints

169 comp / 252 Att - 67% completion

1876 yards passing

QB rating over 100 - 5 times

Packers Record - 4 Wins, 3 Losses

I think if we're looking to see if Jordan has shown improvement as the season wears on (and opponents' DCs see his tendencies and weaknesses), the results are pretty clear and convincing. And that's what I was hoping for - improvement.

Jordan Love Redux

Love and Rodgers after 14 games in their first season starting:

Lifted from this site:  Linky

Love thru 14 games this year:

304-of-486 passing (62.6 percent), 3,368 yards, 25 touchdowns vs. 11 interceptions, 90.8 rating.

Rodgers thru 14 games in 2008:

296-of-466 passing (63.5 percent), 3,470 yards, 23 touchdowns vs. 12 interceptions, 91.8 rating.

I'm not suggesting he'll ever be anywhere close to AR as a player, but I think it was too early to "write him off" in the middle of his first season starting.  And a lot of Packers and NFL fans did just that.

Yet another huge win for a backup QB

2023, the year of the backup.  I think the Seahawks caught the Eagles at the perfect time, where the offense is clearly struggling.  Is Hurts just regressing to where he will wind up being as a QB?  2022 might just be an outlier year for him.

Don't believe he's much different from Fields, he, much like Purdy, is the beneficiary of a solid roster and solid coaching.  Exchange Hurts/Purdy with Fields and I believe you'd see much better play from Fields along with Hurts/Purdy struggling.  The good news is the Bears are solving the roster part of the equation, just need to fix the coaching part.

Agreed.

That Seahawks game-winning throw & catch was a thing of beauty.

I say this as a person who drafted him as my fantasy QB, but as a passer, he has looked very average this year and considering he has  a WR duo arguably as good as the Tyreek Hill/Jaylen Waddle combo and he has one of the best Olines in the league, his season has been a huge disappointment. Then again, a lot of the usual big names have been pretty bad by their standards they've set. This is the worst season I remember Mahomes having and Allen, Herbert, Burrow and Lawrence are all having/had down years as well.

It sure was.

Regarding the Bears roster, it gives me hope, if they go ahead and draft Williams or Maye, it's so much better than the typical team at picking #1.  All that BS about Williams staying in school if its the Bears will probably not be a thing because it's not a roster with massive holes.  Now if it's NE or even Carolina I could see Williams being hesitant they're both further away from the playoffs than the Bears.

The pride of Skokie, IL might win the award for dumbest tweet of the year by a former athlete.

Has Curt Schilling tweeted this year?

Pretty wild that if Buffalo beats Miami they’re the 2 seed but if they lose and Pittsburgh wins (and Hou-Ind doesn’t end in a tie), they’re out altogether. Usually these win and you get a home game, lose and you’re maybe out involves a team going for the 4 seed.

I just want to say: I really hate the new format in football. I liked it when it was a 16 game schedule, 6 playoff teams, 2 byes for the top 2 seeds.

This whole 17 game season, 7 playoff team, only 1 bye team thing screws my brain up and it's super ugly to look at. I want even numbers! I want things to make sense! The previous format was elegant and beautiful!

The "let's put games in other countries and air games on streaming channels" thing makes things pretty ugly as well.

I kinda like the "only one team gets a bye" thing, as it really makes winning as many games as possible the goal (rather than taking your foot off the gas when you know you can win the division at 10-7)

I'm just now seeing that the KC/Miami guy will be on Peacock.  It's ****** enough when they do this in the regular season,  but doing this for a playoff game is even worse. I guess I'll be watching something else tonight.  It's only a matter of time until the Super Bowl is PPV at this rate.
