maddon successfully forced the dodgers to use jansen in game 1 - that's next level 9th dimensional stearns chess

Bryant just misses a 2 run shot, Rizzo lines one right to the RF with the bases loaded, Almora pops up with a runner on 3rd and 1 out. The 8th inning lost us the game just as much as Morrow randomly being unavailable.

If Morrow wasn't available for 1 or both games, why the hell didn't we red eye someone up to be the 26th man for the 2nd game?

This actually doesn't irritate me at all. This was a really, really poorly played game in the late innings by the Cubs. Would have loved to win, of course.

And despite that we win if Joe manages by the book and uses his effing closer in a one-run game

Don't forget Tommy striking out with runners on second and third and one out.

Cubs played with fire a lot today and it finally just caught up.

you're not allowed to win if you strand that many baserunners. you deserve this for your insolence to the game of baseball

The Dodgers have stranded more baserunners than the Cubs

This horsefeathers happens almost every game. They have a really good offense that can't take advantage of essentially gimme situations to even scratch out a single run to a degree that makes absolutely no logical sense whatsoever.

I can’t believe how much I hate the manager that managed the cubs World Series winner

every time they cut to him standing on the dugout steps with his dumb horsefeathering wristbands on all i feel is red-hot rage

You try to win the game you’re playing. You don’t wait for some other hypothetical save situation. Joe is having a terrible season.
