ahahaahhaha the cubs won the world series what the hell

basically this went through my mind driving into work seeing 3 back to back billboards on 294 from wintrust toasting the 2016 world champs

I have a 'moment' at least once a day where it dawns on me that they won the world series and I get a brief rush of endorphins as I think about it, and then I carry on with my day with a smile on my face.

I don't use Pornhub anymore. I use the 10th inning of Game 7 of the 2016 World Series instead.

how do you use a magazine?

Magazine?

There's this awesome new invention called "the Internet." It'll put magazines out of business eventually.

I like this but, having watched the 10th inning/extended highlights countless times, it still makes me way more anxious than anything. What an incredible roller coaster, I still can't believe all that happened.

My only regret is I got a little too drunk over the course of the game but it damn near killed me. My memory is spotty of the last hour or so and I remember very little from the aftermath. Although I am pretty sure I was so happy and jubilant that I may have proposed to my then girlfriend, only to break up with her a couple of weeks later. Yikes/oops/lol.

Whatever, THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES AND IT WAS AWESOME.

I still get annoyed watching the Davis home run; what a dumb, dumb thing to have happened. Kinda just solidifies not liking Chapman, too.

I said this after the game, but it was kinda perfect in that sense. We got a lot out of him in the playoff run without having to see him in the final out pictures.

Need your guys help now that I just finished the World Series film and I'm feeling even more drunk and nostalgic than usual.

I'm thinking it was after the NLCS, but there was a video where Baez was getting interviewed and someone, 99% sure it was Lester, interrupted the interview to give him a huge hug and say how proud they were of him. Please, if someone has that video, I can't find it anywhere.

Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but I believe there was a moment after the NLDS series win where you could see Heyward embracing Baez in the locker room and telling him something.

No, there was definitely a Lester/Baez moment during an on-field postgame interview. I think it was the NLCS, may have been the World Series.

This was after Game 7, Rosenthal was interviewing Baez when Lester interrupted and gave Baez a bear hug, telling him repeatedly "I'm so proud of you" or some such. Awesome scene, I've been looking for that too.

Good interview with Joe Maddon by Ken Rosenthal where he talks a lot about the decision he made throughout the World Series.

Maddon calling the rain delay "the perfect storm"....love it.

Some really good stuff in there. His stuff about different catchers calling Chapman differently is interesting stuff. Also interesting just how wrong he is on Javy's numbers.

I refuse to believe Chapmans fastball was fine and it was totally Miguel Montero that forced him to throw 90% sliders in the 9th.

I have this rotation down. Watch 9th inning of Game 4 vs SF. Watch 9th inning of Game 6 vs LA. Watch 10th inning of Game 7 vs Cleveland.

Never gets old tbh.

I really want to click on the Maddon strategy article, but I was so angry at him during Game 7 and I haven't been angry at him since we won. I don't want to be angry about anything from this year.

Now that it's over I wouldn't change a thing, but rewatching this stuff makes me nervous knowing how close we were (Joe was) to blowing it.

Two big things we don't get if Cubs bullpen locked down the win in regulation:

1. Rizzo's reaction to Zobrist's 2B.

2. The drama of the other team having the World Series winning run at the plate during the last out. Seriously, this is such a rare occurrence. It has to be in the bottom half of a game 7 in the 9th inning or later for it to be possible for both teams to be able to win the World Series on ONE PITCH. Royals/Giants had this situation in 2014. But it cannot be all that common.

Don't forget not having Chapman in the final out photos.
