Ties for top 5 alltime for total wins by a WS Champion.

The Mariners and 06 Cubs lost.

Cool seeing the Cubs and 27 Yankees at the same total (obviously the Cubs had a 162 game schedule & 7 more playoff wins) but if anybody asks they were equals ;)

Now that we have the ring I want to see some run differential stuff up again.

We had to be one of the top RD teams that won the title over the last 50 years correct?

Also how did our RD turnout compared to rest of baseball the last 25 years & turnout against the teams listed here in total wins?

I hope everyone at NSBB had a good Thanksgiving.

While I may think a good percentage of my extended family are knuckle-dragging troglodytes, it was quite a sight to see four generations of my family decked out in Cubs World Championship gear.

I hope everyone else had a good time with their loved ones, as well.

I feel like this post works even better here than in the Rizzo thread.

Rizzo and Wood are the only holdovers from 2012 after Castro and Valbuena were traded away. 2013 was Rondon's Rule 5 year, along with Arrieta, Strop, and Grimm mid-season.

I was looking at different Cubs rosters & stats the other day. The 2013 team really blew my mind, it was just weird seeing all these 2016 WS Champs listed above on the same Cubs rosters as Carlos freaking Marmol, Kevin Gregg, Michael Bowden, Matt Garza, Julio Borbon, Brent Lillibridge, Logan Watkins......

Literally guys I do not remember.

Alberto Gonzalez, Thomas Neal, JC Boscan, Darnell Mcdonald, Kameron Loe, Chang Yong Lim, Matt Guirrer, Darrel Walker, Ed Nealy, Henry Rodriguez (& no not the LF from the 98 Cubs), Cody Ransom, Zach Putnam, and a few more I vaguely remember... like Rafael Dolis, oh yeah he was a guy..

By the way 2016 leader in WAR was Travis Wood at 5.1, leading position player Wellington Castillo.

An article from random website forecasting the next 5 World Series' popped on my Facebook today, and I became irrationally annoyed they didn't pick the Cubs for next year.

2017 - Blue Jays over Cubs

2018 - Giants over Red Sox (much of their reasoning was Bumgarner, Cueto, Shark is a great rotation and the return of the even year eyeroll.gif)

2019 - Cubs over Indians again

2020 - Astros over Cardinals

2021 - Braves over Yankees

I guess an article putting Cubs over who cares 5 times in a row wouldn't get as many clicks.

Anything that predicts who makes it through the playoff crapshoot over a span of 5 years is purely for entertainment purposes (well I guess any prediction is purely entertainment, but there is less science involved in these predictions)

it's amazing that KB won the MVP

Driving home yesterday from some shopping in Mission Valley, San Diego on one of the busiest freeways in town I ran across a full billboard congratulating Kris Bryant on his great season. He's wearing his San Diego uniform in the picture, but still very cool.
