  1. The beauty of this roster is there are just so many choices.
  2. I was a little confused about the decent K rate and comments about missing bats, but his swinging strike rate is abysmal. He's literally not missing the bats. This is more hypothetical than anything else, but given the absurdly low swinging strike rate compared to the slightly above average K rate, it would seem to me he's getting a lot of takes on pitches in the zone? I wonder how that compares in terms of predictive value vs swinging strikes. This has been studied there's an article on Fangraphs somewhere but I'm too lazy to find it. Basically it concludes that called strikes isn't really a skill and it doesn't correlate to K rate.
  3. He has 5.4% swinging strike rate. I'm not even sure who he's an upgrade over.
  4. TIL Karl Ravech is not only alive but pretending he has sources.
  5. I'm so glad I didn't publicly document my KB doom boner like all you idiots in here.
  6. https://chicago.suntimes.com/columnists/cubs-addison-russell-wrigley-field-2019/ I feel like saying these comments are stupid let's him off the hook. He's either a narcissist or a sociopath, and I am leaning sociopath. He needs to be gone immediately. Theo et al don't really care about this though, they banned the guy in the seats the other day, so they've done their good deed.
  7. 10 balls at 6 outs and the pitcher up and he blows it. The under wins. It was a sweat but it wouldn't be gambling if it wasn't.
  8. Pounding the under. I'm guessing this cashes in the first inning.
  9. His name is Whit Merrifield, the tweets that everyone should be concerned about are the ones they haven't found yet.
  10. Nothing. Theo has always said nobody is untouchable and this is fake news. Someone should take Olney's Wrigley hard pass away.
  11. ESPN has turned into that Sports Mockery site. 100% clickbait [expletive].
  12. Well horsefeathers. Do what you want with this, but this jumping the gun on the gam threads is why our offense is inconsistent.
  13. The dumb and really horsefeathering awful lineup the Tigers will put out will contain one guy you should fear, Nick Castellanos. There's about a 93.6% chance that Kyle gives up a dong to him in the first innings putting us in a hole we are not capapble of getting out of and winning. Zimmermann horsefeathering sucks. Cubs might scrape together 2 runs. Cubs are currently -195 (66% implied odds of winning). At least Vegas still thinks we're better than the Tigers, but that's because Vegas doesn't read this board. Can the Cubs defy the odds and get me my first win tonight? Doubtful.
  14. Well Duke, after reading the Craig Edwards tweet about magically changing roughly 7 Cardinals losses into Cardinals wins a few weeks back, I think i've figured it out. Craig Edwards is QAnon. We see the Cubs are leading the division in our reality right now, but that's what the deep state wants you to believe. In real reality, Theo is going to jail for his Resist hat and possible involvement in a slavery ring in Mexico. It will be revealed in time that the Brewers were granted additional wins and we will be stuck looking from the outside in when October rolls around. You'll remember that just a few weeks ago Craig Edwards tweeted that the Cardinals would've been right there in the division race if they had won all the games where they blew saves. This would give the Cardinals 7 more wins. Craig is so good at counteracting the deep state, so he has every twitter account blocked that could be Jed or Theo or anyone with Cubs connections. The Cubs now are at a competitive disadvantage heading into the stretch run, thinking they are leading the division and, in fact, the league. They have no idea what's coming their way. If I am deciphering brewerfan.net correctly we will learn of the additional Brewers wins sometime around September 28th in a Friday news dump. Wake up people!
  15. Sorry for not going full doom-boner when my favorite team has the best record in their league. this is a fair point, but it's also pretty disingenuous how you've used it like 10 times in the last few weeks. they could have the 6th best record in the league with a bad 3-4 days Disingenuous is when you...tell the truth?
  16. He's a rental. I would venture to guess there's no chance he gets to 200 IP this season to vest his option. he needs to get to 252. the option vests with 400 total innings pitched between this year and last. Bobson, reading is horsefeathering hard ok?
  17. He's a rental. I would venture to guess there's no chance he gets to 200 IP this season to vest his option.
  18. I'm all in on Hamels' home/road splits. Texas is basically Coors but without the fanfare.
  19. Someone hasn't seen who the DBacks are running out tonight...
