The hell? What’s that mean?

That would mean that the "real" finalists are the Mariners, Giants, Angels and Cubs.

Just kidding. It means he's ours.

I’m somewhere between “i like the way you think” and “there could be a little truth there, honestly.”

So who do we all think will be at our meeting? Theo/Jed/McCleod and probably some other FO nerds, Maddon and Hickey I could see as only coaches, possibly Ricketts and Crane then Rizzo, Lester, Zobrist and Heyward player wise? I could see Bryant not being there as the former 4 guys seem more like the vocal leaders.

Yosh Kawano

Most of the guys have no idea, but this post is funny AF.

The presentation fascinates me. I'd love to find out what they're doing. Would love to know how long the meetings are. I'm guessing they're between 1-3 hours. Theo's gathered info on him for years. I'm sure it'll get his hot button stuff covered.

Gotta wonder how they'll bring Chicago to him. He's never been. Be curious what stops they pull there. Granted, he may yet take a visit to any of these cities, since he's seeing presentations thru Friday supposedly.

Signing him to $300k. What happens in year 2 and beyond? Is it then all arb eligible?

he's like any other minor leaguer that comes up

Theo obviously needs to kick off the meeting by saying by not picking us he’s personally disrespecting the Epstein and Rickett’s family for generations and will have lost the respect of one of the largest fan bases in MLB and there is no saving face.

What Cubs fan over 30 years old doesn’t know who Yosh Kawano is?

I forgive you because your username makes me smile every time I think about what it is referencing.

I just hope Theo and crew is completely thorough on all the Japanese customs. It would make a very positive impression if they were able to get through a dinner properly and avoided all the little snafus that most people don't know about. Drinking procedure included. Just for example, in Japan the number 4 is bad luck because it spelled "Shi" and to die in Japanese is "Shinu". Most buildings will skip the 4th floor etc.

Wish he visited Chicago last weekend when it was actually decently warm

I don’t know if it’s true and forgot where I saw it but I saw in the last week that Ohtani is basically from and lives in an area of Japan with a similar climate to Minnesota/Wisconsin/Illinois so idk how much he will care about climate especially because it seems like he goes out of his way to be home a lot.

I guess we can cross former Cub Chris Valaika off the list of people to take to the presentation.

Seriously, Theo has done this horsefeathers before.

Given the odds I'm probably way too optimistic but dammit there's nobody I'd want more running this show than Theo.

I don't know if it's as bad as Minnesota, but every article that mentioned his home town has mentioned its cold winters with quite a bit of snow.
