Came across this today which was posted a couple of days ago on the anniversary. I remember watching this as a 13 year old and losing my mind. I watch the highlights a couple of times a year but this has some present day interviews with Steve Trout, Jody Davis, Sarge, Bobby Dernier that were cool to see. Along with comments from Ozzie Smith and Bruce Sutter. Sutter comes off as a pretty cool dude.

Come for the Dave Owen game winning RBI. Stay for the 3 seconds of Ronnie Woo Woo footage. My library had the Sandberg Game (and the Kerry Wood game) on DVD, which I watched a good 7 years ago, but I must have fast forwarded past the Alou parallel. That's horsefeathering crazy.

It sounds like a situation where Minch would be justified to be frustrated by the situation he's in, and the org penny pinching minor leaguers is ultimately the cause that should have been addressed. How much of what happens from there is Minch not having the right value for himself compared to the front office misleading him would depend on the specifics of what and when those conversations happened.

I don't think about Minch much but it does reflect the (understandable) frustration among minor leaguers, especially now with the MiLB season cancelled.
