Does anyone know if they are going to radio broadcasts? I’m not going to get mlbtv but I will get the radio package if they have it.

yep, should be interesting as Pat and Ron will broadcast road games from Wrigley. Last I read Len & JD would be doing the same.

I am curious about this. Will there only be one group of camera operators? Will road team announcers be limited to only talking about what the home team is currently airing?

That's correct. I believe there's been talk that the teams will have some level of cooperation to help road team broadcasts.

If anyone cares, here is how Fangraphs ranked the Cubs in every position group in terms of projected WAR:

C: 18th

1B: 1st

2B: 21st

3B: 10th

SS: 13th

RF: 9th

CF: 21st

RF: 11th

SP: 17th

RP: 17th

DH: 8th (top NL team)

Some strange ones there to me

1B and SS stand out to me.

Really good stuff from Sahadev. The main takeaway is that because Willson has been struggling with this for a while, he's been tinkering a lot. Now they basically have two setups, one for bases empty and one for runners on.

I don't understand why Javy's defense is -0.0

No one that is projected to provide positive WAR. They have Caratini as the backup with 0.0 wins. I think the biggest reasons the Cubs are 1st are 1) Freeman having symptomatic COVID caused his projections to dip ever so slightly (the article mentions the Braves were 1st before this news), 2) they are projecting a slight dip for Alonso 3) they like Rizzo slightly more than Olson and 4) 1B production across the league is at historical lows of late.

Most of these make no sense to me. Especially because their projections have us winning the division.

I remember reading the SS one and thinking there was a mistake because they had Baez as neutral defensively, even when talking up how good he is with the glove in the blurb, but looks like it wasn't updated. Wouldn't make sense based on his projections on his player page and his past numbers, but...who knows.

I'm still not sure I have any feelings towards this abbreviated season, but I'm comforted that the immediate righteous anger at Kris Bryant being underrated nationally hasn't left me.

I'm just hoping that it leads him to accept a lower-priced deal than he should take.

Unless experts think Bryant’s shoulder issues are going to hinder him all year, I don’t know how you can say there are nine or ten better than him

Bryant has the 4th highest wOBA among the starting 3b they have listed (Bregman way ahead, Arenado a bit ahead, Donaldson in a virtual tie), so the low ranking comes down to playing time and defense (A slight negative). They have Bryant with 180 plate appearances, while pretty much everyone ahead of him is in the 230-250 range.

I wonder if the playing time projection is based on injuries or if he gets too many appearances at other positions, diluting his value for this sort of exercise.

They have him moving around more than a lot of other 3B. He'd be 7th or 8th playing 3B full time. And that sounds bad too but keep in mind that 3B might be the deepest position in baseball at the moment, like Arenado is 6th and Manny Machado is 8th.

For the Derwoods of the world who can't be bothered to look it up themselves, here's the top 15:

Alex Bregman

Matt Chapman

Anthony Rendon

Jose Ramirez

Josh Donaldson

Nolan Arenado

Rafael Devers

Manny Machado

Yoan Moncada

Kris Bryant / David Bote

Justin Turner / Enrique Hernandez

Eugenio Suarez

Brian Anderson

Jeff McNeil / J.D. Davis / Jed Lowrie

Matt Carpenter / Tommy Edman

Everybody ahead of Bryant has significantly more plate appearances projected at their position. For instance, Moncada is projected for 0.1 fWAR more than Bryant, but in 47 more PA. Machado is 0.3 fWAR more, but in 70 more PA, etc...
