when i heard there was some sort of run in between price and eckersley, i didn't anticipate coming out of reading this story being on eckersley's side, but man, david price sounds like a jackass here.

For Price, the tipping point came when he learned Eckersley said “Yuck” when Eduardo Rodriguez’s poor stats were flashed on the NESN screen after a rehab start in Pawtucket June 29.

On the day of the episode, Price was standing near the middle of the team aircraft, surrounded by fellow players, waiting for Eckersley. When Eckersley approached, on his way to the back of the plane (Sox broadcasters traditionally sit in the rear of the aircraft), a grandstanding Price stood in front of Eckersley and shouted, “Here he is — the greatest pitcher who ever lived! This game is easy for him!”

When a stunned Eckersley tried to speak, Price shot back with, “Get the [expletive] out of here!”

Many players applauded.

Eckersley made his way to the back of the plane as players in the middle of the plane started their card games. In the middle of the short flight, Eckersley got up and walked toward the front where Sox boss Dave Dombrowski was seated. When Eckersley passed through the card-playing section in the middle, Price went at him again, shouting, “Get the [expletive] out of here!”

When Price was asked about it the next day, he said only, “Some people just don’t understand how hard this game is.”

LOL Price is a jag. Yeah, Dennis horsefeathering Eckersley doesn't know how hard it is to play baseball.

cody bellinger is ridiculous

Anymore ridiculous than me recently realizing he is Clay Bellinger's kid?

Fun fact: Bartolo Colon has faced both Bellingers in the big leagues.

Funner Fact: Storm Davis faced Ken Griffey Sr. and Jr. in the same inning!

The Griffey's went back to back against Kirk McKaskill. That's probably not something that will ever happen again.

Addy has a decent shot with all of the kids he has out there.

Best part about it was that no one moved it back, so the Rangers just went to where the circle was moved, rather than where it was moved from.

No one else got ejected.

Any article that talks about what a badass player Kenny Lofton was this much will get read by me. This got me thinking about players who lasted into this decade that should get at least some kind of HOF consideration. Some guys with good cases that probably are going to get similar treatment as Lofton from the HOF soon (maybe):

Sabathia - I almost want to say for sure, barring something extraordinary at the end

Halladay?

Buehrle?

Beltran?

Hernandez - Nah, I think he gets in.

C. Lee?

Cano?

Greinke?

Votto?

If Cliff Lee were to get more votes than Sabathia the earth shall tremble before my wrath. Miguel Cabrera, Adrian Beltre has it locked up probably, Posey is chugging along, and Verlander doesn't have to do so much. Kershaw could probably get in if he stopped right now, too lazy to check that (or any of this).

I actually didn't expect to come up with that many names of mainly current players with at least some case for the HOF. I might be missing one or two, for sure I'm intentionally not mentioning one name that Indefinitely think should be in the HOF at the end.

I think Beltran and Halladay get in without much trouble. Carlos Lee doesn't really even belong on that list, though.

I think he was referring to Cliff Lee and not Carlos Lee.

just out of pure boredom it occurred to me to see how starlin was doing and then to see how he was doing since the yankees played us and he had those crazy good numbers

.277/.313./.426 .313 wOBA 93 wRC+ in 208 PA

so, kinda normal starlin castro numbers

still a very good .307/.344/.472 .346 wOBA and 116 wRC+ in 337 PA overall

i knew scott rolen was really really damn good (like a 4-6 win a year guy), but i'd have not guessed he had a 9 WAR season (in only 142 games too)

Yeah that guy should probably be in the Hall of Fame, and I had no idea.
